On April 16th, Mr. Pham Trong Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuan Bac District ( Ninh Thuan Province ), confirmed that he had signed a document sent to the Ninh Thuan Department of Internal Affairs requesting their consideration and opinion on the recruitment of teachers at public service units in schools.

Previously, Thuan Bac district organized the recruitment of teachers at 9 school boards. The recruitment took place from April 8th to 10th and has now been completed.

Out of 76 applicants, 21 met the recruitment criteria and are currently awaiting district approval of the recruitment results.

Mr. Hoang Dac Hieu, deputy head of the Education and Training Department of Thuan Bac district, stated that the teacher recruitment process was carried out according to regulations and the results were expected to be approved by April 15th. However, after reviewing the documents and to ensure compliance with regulations, the district has temporarily suspended the process pending the opinion of the Department of Internal Affairs.

"The approval of recruitment results has been temporarily suspended. The district has sent a document to the Department of Internal Affairs requesting their opinion on the recruitment of the aforementioned civil servants, after which further instructions will be considered," Mr. Hieu said.

Conversely, the People's Committee of Ninh Phuoc district has also announced the recruitment of 12 teacher positions across 8 recruitment boards in 8 schools.

By April 15th, these councils had completed the necessary steps to prepare for the recruitment process.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Phuong, head of the Internal Affairs Department of Ninh Phuoc district, said that they are following the guidelines in document No. 1251 dated March 24, 2025, of the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee on strengthening guidance for general education in the province.

"According to the provincial document, recruitment is permitted for the education sector, but not for other sectors," Mr. Phuong said.

Representatives from Thuan Bac and Ninh Phuoc districts stated that the local authorities are recruiting teachers to ensure sufficient staffing for educational purposes in the area.

Regarding this matter, in an interview with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Tran Hai, Director of the Ninh Thuan Department of Internal Affairs, stated that the temporary suspension of recruitment only applies to units subject to restructuring and mergers. The health and education sectors will continue their recruitment processes to ensure sufficient teachers for the school year.

Ministry of Education and Training: urgently recruit enough teachers to fill the allocated positions.

On April 11th, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a document regarding the recruitment, management, and utilization of teacher staffing quotas for preschool and general education, addressed to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities.

Accordingly, to address the teacher shortage, the Ministry of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-administered cities to direct relevant units to urgently recruit teachers to ensure sufficient staffing levels as allocated by competent authorities (including unused allocated positions and supplementary positions for 2024-2025); and to prevent the restructuring and streamlining of the organizational apparatus from affecting teacher recruitment. Simultaneously, implement solutions to ensure a sufficient supply of teachers.

In addition, it is necessary to review and transfer teachers from areas with a surplus to areas with a shortage; specifically determine the number and structure of teachers still needed for each school year, each educational level, and each subject from 2026-2027 to 2030-2031, and report to the Ministry of Education and Training.

Continue reviewing and reorganizing educational institutions; consolidate school locations based on the principle of convenience for the people and suitability to the actual conditions of the region and locality.
