Below are the detailed admission ratios for each school:
From 5 PM on May 4th to no later than 5 PM on May 8th, parents and students in Ho Chi Minh City are allowed to adjust their registered preferences. The admissions system only allows changes to preferences or their order; adding new preferences or canceling registrations is not permitted.
The Department of Education and Training announced that the number of students graduating from grade 9 in the 2025-2026 school year is expected to be 169,079, an increase of 42,734 students compared to the previous school year. Of these, the increase is 29,848 students in region 1; 8,419 students in region 2; and 4,467 students in region 3.
For the 2026-2027 school year, high schools in the city will enroll 118,955 students (reaching 70.3%); continuing education and vocational training centers will enroll 16,226 students (reaching 9.6%). Thus, the total enrollment rate for public schools and centers will reach 135,181/169,079 students (79.9%).
Although the number of 9th-grade students in Ho Chi Minh City increased by 42,734 compared to the previous school year, most public high schools in the city have increased their enrollment quotas for 10th grade compared to the previous year.
In Ho Chi Minh City's Zone 1, high schools that have increased their enrollment quotas significantly include: Phuoc Kien, Nguyen Van Tang, Vo Truong Toan, Ho Thi Bi, Thu Thiem, Tan Phong, Nguyen An Ninh, Le Minh Xuan, Quang Trung, Ly Thuong Kiet, Giong Ong To, Trung Vuong, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Van Giau, Thanh Da, and Da Phuoc.
Even top-tier schools have increased their enrollment quotas: Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School increased by 180 students; Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School increased by 155; Tran Phu High School and Nguyen Huu Cau High School both increased by 135; Phu Nhuan High School increased by 100; and Le Quy Don High School increased by 35.
In Ho Chi Minh City's Zone 2, some schools have seen a sudden increase in enrollment, such as Thai Hoa, Binh Phu, Nguyen Hue, Trinh Hoai Duc, and Huynh Van Nghe...
In Ho Chi Minh City's Zone 3, high schools that have increased their enrollment quotas significantly include: Tran Quang Khai, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Long Hai - Phuoc Tinh, Minh Dam, Bung Rieng, and Phuoc Buu.
In terms of scale, many schools in Ho Chi Minh City have very large enrollment quotas for 10th grade, reaching up to 1,000 students. Leading the entire system is Nguyen Van Tang High School with 1,125 places; followed by Mac Dinh Chi High School with 1,060; Hung Vuong High School and Tay Thanh High School with 1,035 each; and Marie Curie High School with 1,000 places.
The group of high schools with 900-990 enrollment quotas includes a number of familiar schools such as: Tran Quang Khai, Tran Hung Dao, Linh Trung (990); Trung Vuong, Nguyen An Ninh, Binh Chanh, Truong Chinh, Thu Duc… (900). In addition, some schools with large enrollment quotas close to this threshold include: Gia Dinh High School: 960; Tran Phu High School: 945; Phu Nhuan High School: 925. The threshold to enter the top 50 schools with large enrollment quotas starts from around 810 quotas, including: Thu Thiem, Thanh Loc, Phan Dang Luu, Quang Trung, Cu Chi, An Nhon Tay.
Nevertheless, the pressure to enroll 10th grade students remains very high in schools in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City. Schools with the highest admission scores in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025, such as Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Nguyen Huu Cau High School, etc., have a not-too-low number of 10th grade enrollments this year, but they are also not "opening their doors wide".
Specifically, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will recruit 465 students; Nguyen Thuong Hien High School will recruit 780 students; and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School will recruit 845 students.
Last year, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School had the highest admission scores in the city with 24.5 for first choice, 25 for second choice, and 25.5 for third choice. Nguyen Thuong Hien High School ranked third with 23.5 for first choice, 24 for second choice, and 24.25 for third choice. Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School ranked second with 23.75 for first choice, 24 for second choice, and 24.75 for third choice.
In addition, Nguyen Huu Huan High School is recruiting 835 students; Bui Thi Xuan High School is recruiting 700 students; Le Quy Don High School is recruiting 560 students...
Notably, in 2025, Gia Dinh High School "fell" out of the top 10 highest admission scores in Ho Chi Minh City, with its first-choice admission score being only 18.75 points. However, this year, Gia Dinh High School has an enrollment quota of 960 students. This could be a major "trap" for students if they don't choose carefully, as Gia Dinh High School is usually among the high-scoring schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
Notably, some "hot" schools in the middle group have very large enrollment sizes. Mac Dinh Chi High School enrolls up to 1,060 students; Hung Vuong High School and Tay Thanh High School both enroll 1,035 students; Marie Curie High School enrolls 1,000 students. Some other schools such as Tran Phu High School (945), Phu Nhuan High School (925), Nguyen An Ninh High School and Trung Vuong High School each have 900 quotas...
