The benefits of the "Fire Alarm 114" app.

Given the nature of her clothing business at Hung Ha Market (Hung Ha commune, Hung Yen province), a place with a high risk of fire due to flammable materials, Ms. Le Thi Tuyet lives in constant fear of fire. For Ms. Tuyet, her shop is not just a source of livelihood but the result of her life's savings.

"With clothing, even a small oversight, like a cigarette butt or an electrical short circuit, can cause the entire inventory to be burned to ashes in an instant. Previously, my biggest fear was the confusion when an incident occurred, the inability to accurately describe the location so that the authorities could provide timely assistance," Ms. Tuyet shared.

However, this concern was resolved when the commune's police force directly visited the stall to guide the owner in installing and using the "Fire Alarm 114" application. Thanks to its integration on smartphones, the application became an effective "extension" of the fire department, establishing a seamless communication channel and supporting a quick response between the vendor and the fire department.

According to Ms. Tuyet, the outstanding advantage of the application is its ability to automatically locate and transmit accurate coordinates, helping authorities quickly access the scene without manual description. With the dedicated guidance of the police force, she and many other small business owners have learned how to transmit information using images and videos , utilizing the "golden hour" to control incidents from the very beginning.

Sharing the same opinion, Ms. Tran Thi Huyen, a clothing vendor at Hung Ha market, said that integrating the direct fire alarm feature into the VNeID application has brought peace of mind. According to Ms. Huyen, the groundbreaking advantage of this solution lies in its ability to automatically locate the incident, helping authorities accurately determine the location of the incident and eliminating the limitations in describing the location during an emergency.

The proactive approach of small business owners like Ms. Tuyet and Ms. Huyen is proof of the effectiveness of digitizing fire prevention and fighting efforts. This is not only a technological advancement but also a practical solution to protect people's lives and property at the grassroots level.

With the risk of fire and explosions approaching during the hot season, Hung Ha commune has proactively tightened safety measures in key areas. At Hung Ha market, the market management board has closely coordinated with the commune police to vigorously promote and encourage traders to strictly comply with fire prevention and control regulations.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Dung, representative of the Market Management Board, said that thanks to the close supervision of the government and the police force, the awareness of the vendors has clearly improved. Currently, the Board is actively encouraging all vendors to install the "Fire Alarm 114" application. This is considered a powerful tool to help vendors report incidents promptly and receive the fastest support from the authorities when they occur.

"The extended arm" of the fire fighting force.

In accordance with Official Letter No. 933/UBND-NC dated February 26, 2026, from the People's Committee of Hung Yen province regarding strengthening fire prevention and control and promoting digital transformation, the Hung Yen Provincial Police are aggressively deploying and using the "Fire Alarm 114" application to modernize rescue and relief work in the area.

Recognizing the police force as the core and leading example, the Provincial Police Department aims for 100% of its officers and soldiers to complete the installation and encourage their relatives to participate before July 5, 2026. For the community, the province strives to ensure that by June 30, 2026, each household has at least one member using the application, aiming for 100% of smartphone users to install it.

At the grassroots level, the police force has flexibly integrated guidance into fire safety inspections and training sessions, and closely coordinated with agencies and schools. In particular, the motto "going door to door" through "Neighborhood Fire Safety Teams" has helped people quickly and effectively access and apply the knowledge.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Le Oanh, Deputy Head of Hung Ha Commune Police, shared that, given the large geographical area and bustling trade, the unit has identified the "Fire Alarm 114" application as the "key" to ensuring security, order, and fire safety. In addition to disseminating information through the public address system and mobilizing youth union members, the police force has directly visited each stall and kiosk to guide traders in installing and using the application proficiently on their personal phones.

"The local authorities aim to have the application available to 100% of households in 47 villages by June 30th. Simultaneously, the commune police are integrating application installation guidance with the campaign to issue identity cards and electronic identification to students aged 6 to under 14, contributing to expanding coverage in the community. Transforming each smartphone into a 'mobile information station' is expected to create a robust protection network, contributing to the modernization of management and ensuring fire safety in the area," Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Le Oanh emphasized.

Evaluating the effectiveness of the "Fire Alarm 114" application, Major Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Head of the Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Police Department (Hung Yen Provincial Police), affirmed that this is an important step in the digital transformation process, contributing to shortening the distance in space and time between people and functional forces. When people are proficient in using the application, they will play an effective role as a support force for fire prevention and firefighting at the grassroots level.

"Currently, instead of simply deploying the application, many localities have chosen to install it directly during community gatherings, thereby raising awareness and responsibility among the people. The synchronized implementation of these solutions not only optimizes the process of handling fire reports but also contributes to proactively preventing and mitigating fire and explosion risks early and from afar," Major Nguyen Van Thang added.

In the coming period, the Hung Yen Provincial Police will continue to promote propaganda, diversify guidance methods, and strengthen the application of digital technology . At the same time, local police forces will increase direct support for people to install applications, determined to maintain security and order and ensure fire safety in the area, especially during the peak of the hot season in 2026.

Beyond being just a technological solution, the "Fire Alarm 114" application is becoming an effective bridge between authorities and the public. When each citizen raises their awareness and actively participates, the risk of fire and explosions will be mitigated early on, contributing to maintaining the peaceful lives of the people.
