Career aspirations of students in mountainous regions

These days, along with the pressure of preparing for graduation exams, 12th-grade students at Cho Don High School (Thai Nguyen) are also facing another important milestone – choosing a career and a future path after leaving school. For many students from mountainous regions, this is not only a decision for their future but also a motivation for them to strive to overcome their difficult circumstances.

Nguyen Thi Bao Chau, a student in class 12A6, has long dreamed of becoming a teacher. For many years, she has consistently achieved good academic results, and last year she even won third prize in the subject of Economic and Legal Education. Therefore, during these exam preparation days, Chau dedicates a lot of time to studying, striving to consolidate her knowledge in order to achieve her goal of entering a teacher training college.

Also in class 12A6, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen harbors the dream of becoming a doctor. For Huyen, medicine is not just a job, but also a way to help those who are sick. To get closer to that goal, she focuses a lot of time on her strong subjects, proactively reviews her studies, and learns more about her любимое profession.

Besides students who already have clear career goals, many are still hesitant about choosing a profession. Hoang Thi Thu Ha, a student in class 12A6, said she is worried because her academic performance is not outstanding, so she is considering choosing a school that suits her abilities and family circumstances.

This school year, Cho Don High School has nearly 1,000 students, with almost 300 in the 12th grade alone, mostly from remote and disadvantaged areas. In addition to supporting students with exam preparation, the school also pays special attention to career guidance through counseling sessions, job fairs, and collaborations with universities, colleges, and the Provincial Employment Service Center to help students understand their own abilities, societal needs, and choose suitable careers.
