URENCO launches intensive environmental cleanup campaign.

On June 4th, information from the Hanoi Urban Environment One-Member Limited Company (URENCO) indicated that, in response to World Environment Day (June 5th) and the movement "All citizens join hands to protect the environment, for a green, clean and beautiful capital," the company launched a peak period of environmental sanitation from June 1st to 8th.

According to the plan, URENCO will mobilize its branches and affiliated units to strengthen their forces and resources to organize a comprehensive environmental cleanup, collect waste, eliminate illegal waste collection points, and address the accumulation of bulky waste and construction debris in main streets and residential areas.

In particular, units are required to proactively coordinate with the People's Committees and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of wards and communes to understand the schedule and locations of environmental sanitation campaigns. URENCO is also strengthening street sweeping and washing to ensure urban aesthetics and maintain a green, clean, and beautiful environment in the capital city.

According to URENCO Deputy General Director Nguyen Thanh Son, to improve the quality of environmental services, the company requires that 100% of its waste collection and transportation vehicles be airtight, preventing waste spillage or leachate leakage. Specialized vehicles, machinery, and equipment are thoroughly inspected before operation to ensure stable and safe operation throughout peak periods.

In addition to waste collection, transportation, and treatment, the Cau Dien Branch has prepared a system of mobile toilets to serve large gatherings when needed. Functional units have also strengthened inspection and monitoring of environmental hygiene quality, promptly addressing any arising issues.

URENCO leaders requested that its subordinate units seriously implement assigned tasks, take responsibility for the quality of environmental sanitation in their managed areas, contribute to ensuring a clean and beautiful urban landscape, improve the quality of life for the people, and spread the message of working together to protect the environment on World Environment Day 2026.
