Ethnic cultures shine in the 'sacred land' of Quang Tri

The festival offered locals and tourists elaborate and emotionally rich artistic performances, as well as unique and eye-catching traditional costumes. Visitors were immersed in the atmosphere of festivals associated with the spiritual and religious life of the ethnic groups through the skillful and talented performances of the artisans; and experienced typical traditional sports . All the most precious and distinctive cultural assets from villages across the country shone brightly in the "sacred land" of Quang Tri, leaving many positive emotions and impressions in the hearts of the public.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Nhung, Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, affirmed that the Festival, with its melodies and sounds rich in cultural identity of ethnic groups from 16 provinces and cities, helps people and tourists better understand, appreciate, cherish, and preserve cultural heritage. The Festival serves as a connecting thread, building solidarity among localities, artisan groups, and amateur performers from the provinces. This is an opportunity for the cultural identity of ethnic groups to be spread, for artisans to share experiences; and also a recognition by the Party and the State of the efforts of localities, especially artisans, in preserving and promoting the beautiful cultural identity of ethnic groups.

At the closing ceremony, 22 collectives and 7 individuals who made significant contributions to the organization of the Festival received Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; 12 collectives and individuals received Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Quang Tri province. The Organizing Committee announced awards for cultural and tourism activities such as: Traditional ethnic costume performances; Mass cultural and artistic festivals; Exhibition spaces showcasing and promoting traditional cultural products; Exhibition, processing and introduction of traditional ethnic cuisine… In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to delegations with high achievements in sports competitions at the festival. Accordingly, the First Prize went to the Dak Lak Provincial Amateur Athletes Delegation. The Second Prize was awarded to the provinces of Bac Giang, Son La, and Quang Nam . The Third Prize went to the provinces of Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Quang Ngai. The provinces of Vinh Phuc, Thua Thien - Hue, and the city of Da Nang received the Encouragement Award for the entire team.

The 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Cultures Festival attracted 1,500 artisans, performers, and athletes from 16 provinces and cities nationwide. The festival featured a variety of rich and unique cultural, tourism, and sporting activities, including: an opening art program; a folk art festival; a traditional ethnic costume performance; performances and presentations of excerpts from local ethnic festivals and traditional cultural rituals; and an exhibition space showcasing and promoting the traditional culture and cuisine of ethnic groups.

The festival concluded, leaving a deep impression on every local resident and visitor. It truly became a practical cultural activity honoring the beautiful traditional cultural values, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnam's ethnic minorities within the unified and diverse culture of the 54 ethnic groups. The event contributed to promoting the diverse cultures of Vietnam's ethnic minorities, fostering understanding, increasing recognition of the unique cultural identities of each region, and making our country a noteworthy highlight on the global cultural map with its distinctive features.
