THILOGI Road Transport Corporation (THILOTRANS) currently has nearly 400 drivers, responsible for transporting employees and a diverse range of goods such as: automobiles, spare parts, agricultural products, industrial equipment, machinery, etc. They are a crucial factor in ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate transportation of employees, meeting the production and business needs of units at THACO Chu Lai; and simultaneously serving as a link in the logistics supply chain, contributing to bringing goods from businesses in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to the global market.
It can be said that drivers are the personnel who represent the quality of service and the professional image of a transportation company. Therefore, THILOTRANS focuses on building a team of drivers who are cultured, behave professionally, and are honest in their work.
"You must concentrate intensely, stay alert, and pay close attention."
For safe journeys, the top requirements for drivers are a serious, cautious attitude and a high sense of responsibility, along with flexibility and proactiveness in all situations.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Toan, a driver of agricultural vehicles, said: “Driving tractor-trailer trucks with trailers several tens of meters long on mountain passes and steep slopes is a real challenge. It requires high concentration and alertness, careful observation and judgment to handle unexpected incidents. Especially before departure, I always check the vehicle, from the dashcam to the steering system, wheels, lights, brakes, horn… to minimize risks during transportation.”
In addition to their focus, observation skills, and quick judgment, THILOTRANS drivers always behave professionally in all situations, thereby contributing to building the Group's reputable image with customers.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, a shuttle driver, shared: “We always remind ourselves to be polite and courteous to customers, to be calm and composed in all circumstances, and to be ready to assist and help others when participating in traffic; especially to uphold professional ethics and not seek personal gain.”
For over 15 years, Mr. Tran Nhu Bao has worked as a driver transporting employees, often leaving early and returning late, but his passion and dedication to the profession remain as strong as ever. During his work, he has also actively participated in many meaningful activities of the Group, such as transporting people from Quang Nam living in Ho Chi Minh City back to their hometowns during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Bao shared: “With this long period of dedication, driving has gradually become not just a means of livelihood but also a source of joy and happiness every day. Safe journeys, meeting many different people, and seeing satisfied smiles are the motivation that helps me continue to strive and contribute to the development of THILOGI.”
Sharing the same joy of driving as Mr. Bao, Mr. Pham Viet Chau, Head of the Agricultural Products Drivers' Team, said: "Having been involved in driving for over 20 years, self-proclaimed titles like 'master driver' are illusory. For me, driving safely is the priceless happiness in every trip."
Continuously improve and enhance the skills and ethics of our team of drivers.
Besides complying with road traffic laws, drivers must regularly train and improve their skills, expertise, confidence, and ethics. Every month, THILOGI organizes intensive training courses on safe driving skills, traffic laws, and handling situations during transportation for its driver staff. Simultaneously, it promotes communication and raises awareness among drivers through various forms such as: publishing internal newsletters, a Culture Handbook, and a Driver's Bulletin. Furthermore, the Group has launched a "Outstanding Driver" competition to recognize dedicated drivers with a strong sense of responsibility, thereby motivating them to maintain steady driving skills and be ready to undertake and successfully complete assigned tasks.
At THILOTRANS, the agricultural cargo transportation division has nearly 200 drivers with more than 200 different specialized vehicles, serving long-distance transportation routes between Vietnam and Laos/Cambodia. Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh, Deputy Director of Business, Agricultural Cargo Delivery and Transportation Department, said: “On long journeys, vehicle breakdowns and malfunctions are unavoidable. Therefore, the unit always focuses on regular maintenance and inspection, frequently training the skills and expertise of our drivers; assigning experienced drivers with good technical skills to support and assist new drivers; and strictly adhering to the Group's regulations and road safety laws.”
Each type of transportation requires different expertise and skills, but all drivers share the common goal of ensuring the safety of people and goods. Despite facing many difficulties, the THILOTRANS team of drivers always maintains their faith in the profession, striving to complete assigned tasks and bring satisfaction and value to customers and partners.
