"The culture and people of Duy Tien"

To commemorate the 555th anniversary of the name Duy Tien, the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the first Party branch in Duy Tien, and the 5th anniversary of Duy Tien becoming a town, the Duy Tien Town Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee have launched the book "Culture and People of Duy Tien". With 555 pages (referring to the 555th anniversary of the name Duy Tien), "Culture and People of Duy Tien" is a relatively complete system of information and data (on geography, history, culture, revolutionary traditions, prominent figures, etc.), helping readers to better understand, be proud of, and cherish the land of Doi Mountain and Chau River.

In the first section, "Geography and History," besides a summary of Duy Tien Town, noteworthy is the article: "Doi Mountain, Chau River and the Cultural History of Dai Viet" (Professor Tran Quoc Vuong) and some images and preliminary data about place names: Ba Chieng Cave, Doi Mountain, Thien Mac River (which are little known), along with valuable related documents such as: the 1891 administrative map of Ha Nam (close to the time of the establishment of Ha Nam province - 1890); the cultural identity and people of Duy Tien; changes in administrative boundaries from 1945 to 2020… Furthermore, to help readers visualize, the "Geography and History" section is divided into specific periods and selects to present concise and prominent information:

Prehistoric period: notable information includes: Ancient bronze drums discovered in Duy Tien; National treasures - Doai and Kim Lu bronze drums (Tien Noi); Ancient tombs; Ancient Vietnamese people of Doi Son; Map showing the distribution of relics where Dong Son bronze drums, bronze jars, and boat tombs have been found in Duy Tien…

Continuing the historical narrative, the book introduces: "The History and Revolutionary Traditions of the Duy Tien Town Party Committee," with some brief information about the stages and events: Establishment of the first Party organization, struggle for power (1927-1945); Resistance and national construction (1946-1975); Building socialism, the reform process (1975-2023); Heroic units of the People's Armed Forces, Heroic Labor units... from Duy Tien.

Part two: “ Culture - Society ”: This book outlines the distinctive features of culture through several introductory articles on: Ethnic groups and inhabitants; Ancestor worship; God worship in Duy Tien; Lanh Giang Temple - a place where many unique cultural and spiritual values ​​converge and spread, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Chau Van in Ha Nam province; Buddhism, Confucianism, Catholicism, and Protestantism in Duy Tien; the ancient Tich Dien ceremony; the reconstruction of the Tich Dien festival (2009); and also provides general information about: the special national monument - Long Doi Son Pagoda; 14 national monuments and 17 provincial monuments in Duy Tien.

The section "Typical Architectural and Sculptural Art" focuses on introducing readers to: the remains of the Sung Thien Dien Linh Tower through archaeological excavations in 2001; the artworks at the Long Doi Son Pagoda, a special national monument; an overview of the Sung Thien Dien Linh Stele; the Van Tu Stele and other ancient steles in Duy Tien…

Part four: “Duy Tien on the path of renewal”: helps readers recall the important event when the mountainous Doi-Chau River area became a town (in 2019) and a series of notable events related to the land and people of Duy Tien: the scientific conference “Comrade Nguyen Huu Tien - A steadfast and talented communist soldier, an outstanding son of Ha Nam province”; the scientific conference “Preserving and promoting the space of the Tich Dien-Doi Son festival”; the scientific conference “Preserving and promoting the value of the national historical and cultural relic of Lanh Giang Temple in the digital age”. Along with the article “Duy Tien rises to new heights of development”, this section also contains much interesting and relevant information, especially for the people of Duy Tien, such as: some images; street names; industrial zones; communes and wards; a bibliography of Duy Tien's legends and deities; In particular, we will share the impressions of Japanese businessman Yoshida Yutaka about the culture and people of Duy Tien, Ha Nam.
