On December 20th, Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City organized an international scientific conference with the theme "Culture and People in the Era of Integration – Striving Forward," attracting the participation of domestic and international scientists from the Russian Federation, China, and South Korea.

Professor Tran Van Doan shared his insights at the conference.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Tran Viet Anh, Vice Rector in charge of Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that Vietnam is entering a new stage of development – a stage that many scholars and intellectuals call "the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise".

This is a period of deep international integration, a shift in the growth model towards knowledge, science and technology, and innovation, aiming to build a strong, prosperous nation with an increasingly prominent position on the international stage.

According to Dr. Tran Viet Anh, in that era, Vietnamese people and culture are both the foundation and the core driving force of sustainable development. Integration is only truly successful when national cultural identity is preserved, while placing people at the center of all development strategies.

The conference also raised many fundamental issues in the context of current globalization, such as: How to preserve and revitalize national culture in a global space; how to enable people to master technology through knowledge, ethics, and social responsibility; and the role of higher education , social sciences, and humanities in shaping a generation of global citizens with Vietnamese identity.

With over 70 papers submitted, including 5 papers presented directly by international and Vietnamese experts, the conference served as an open scientific forum for researchers to analyze the transformations of culture and people in the process of integration, and to propose solutions to leverage cultural soft power, enhance human capacity, and contribute to realizing the aspirations for national development in the new era.

The conference also clearly demonstrated the development philosophy of Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City in the new era: putting people at the center, using culture as the foundation, using knowledge and innovation as the driving force, and using international integration as the method of development.

"Higher education should not only train human resources but also cultivate individuals with cultural integrity, integration capabilities, and a desire to contribute, capable of accompanying the country on its journey to reach out to the world, " emphasized Dr. Tran Viet Anh.
