Van Yen enhances the value of cinnamon trees.
Van Yen preserves genetic resources to maintain the cinnamon brand.
Since the beginning of the year, people in Van Yen district have planted over 2,500 hectares of cinnamon, bringing the total area of cinnamon in the district to approximately 55,000 hectares, of which over 30,000 hectares are concentrated cinnamon plantations.
Cinnamon is grown intensively in the following communes: Phong Du Thuong, Phong Du Ha, Xuan Tam, Chau Que Ha, Tan Hop, Dai Son, Vien Son and Mo Vang.
To increase the yield and value of cinnamon products, the district has focused on applying scientific and technological advancements to planting, caring for, harvesting, and processing cinnamon trees. As a result, the district currently maintains over 10,000 hectares of cinnamon trees that have been certified as organic.
In the coming period, in addition to promoting and inviting domestic and foreign investors to invest in deep processing in the district, Van Yen will link cinnamon development with the preservation, protection, and promotion of the unique traditional cultural features of ethnic minorities. At the same time, attention will be paid to preserving concentrated cinnamon growing areas in the communes to serve as a source of seedlings for annual cinnamon planting in the area.
