World gold price today November 8, 2024 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,706.05 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 1.71% compared to yesterday. Converted to the USD exchange rate, on the free market (25,845 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 84.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is nearly 1 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

The sharp declines in domestic gold prices are not only due to fluctuations in international gold prices but are also significantly affected by domestic factors. Faced with the continuous decline in gold prices, the fear of a prolonged downward trend has prompted many investors to sell off their assets, creating great pressure on the market.
The price of gold bars is currently trading at no more than VND85.5 million/tael, the lowest since October 16, 2024. The main driving force for the price decrease in today's session comes from the development of world gold prices. At the end of the trading session on November 6, the world gold futures price for December on the COMEX floor fell nearly 3% to USD2,668.1/ounce.
Gold traders have adjusted the difference between buying and selling prices due to the sharp decline. Buying prices have fallen more sharply than selling prices, causing the difference between the two prices to increase from VND2 million yesterday to VND4 million in the current session.
On the other hand, world gold prices today increased by more than 1%, thanks to the depreciation of the USD, while the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 0.25 percentage points as widely expected.
At the end of its two-day policy meeting, the U.S. central bank cut its benchmark overnight interest rate to a range of 4.50% to 4.75%, as policymakers noted a generally softening labor market. Lower U.S. interest rates weighed on the dollar and bond yields, boosting the appeal of non-yielding bullion.
“ Gold is still in a strong uptrend and nothing this week, from the election to today’s Fed decision, can change that, ” said Tai Wong, an independent metals trader.
“Unless Powell is inclined to pause today, gold prices are likely to retrace yesterday’s sharp decline,” Wong added.
The dollar index fell 0.6% against its rivals after rising to a four-month high following former Republican President Donald Trump's victory in Tuesday's presidential election.
Traders are now pricing in the possibility of another 25 basis point cut by the Fed in December, according to LSEG data. Investors are now looking forward to comments from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's press conference scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET for more information on the path of monetary policy.
With Trump set to return to power, “ any future rate cuts may be harder to achieve due to concerns that rising prices and rising inflation will force central banks to maintain restrictive policies for longer than desired, ” independent analyst Michael Hewson wrote in a note.
Elsewhere, spot silver rose 1.8% to $31.71 an ounce, platinum rose 0.6% to $992.65 and palladium fell 1.3% to $1,021.25.
