
Thach Hai beach is located in Thach Hai commune, only 10 km east of Ha Tinh city center. For a long time, the beach has attracted tourists and locals because of its long, smooth white sandbank and clear blue water. With a coastline of about 9 km, Thach Hai forms a harmonious natural complex between forest and sea, and is also associated with many historical sites. Another characteristic factor is that Thach Hai beach is still almost pristine, not yet exploited too much, so it retains its appeal and high experiential tourism value.
With the goal of "awakening" the potential of Thach Hai sea tourism, in recent times, Ha Tinh City has focused on investing in upgrading infrastructure, beautifying the landscape and expanding tourism space in an environmentally and community-friendly direction, becoming an ideal choice for those who love green and sustainable tourism.

Mr. Bui Dinh Lam - Chairman of Thach Hai Commune People's Committee said: "With the attention of the city government, the 5km long road surrounding the coast has been upgraded, asphalted, and the sidewalks completed with a total cost of more than 5 billion VND. The road was completed before the opening of the beach tourism season, raising the appearance of Thach Hai beach to become spacious, clean, creating a good impression for tourists.
Restaurants have changed their billboards to meet common standards in terms of size and color; built a civilized and standardized business culture; and friendly and hospitable local people. In particular, Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company has put into operation a beach trash screening machine, helping the locality collect and process waste effectively, and also conveying the message of raising awareness of protecting the beach environment to all residents and tourists.


Thach Hai Beach currently has 2 beaches, 20 seafood restaurants and Quynh Vien Resort. Most of the seafood restaurant owners are locals, so from the simple space arrangement to the food preparation, the restaurants maintain the rustic, close features typical of the coastal area.
The most important thing is the source of fresh food, seafood is supplied directly from the fishermen's boats, consumed on the same day, ensuring the natural sweetness is preserved. This year, some restaurants have also quickly updated the new culinary tastes of customers, investing in tanks to raise jumping squid and lobsters, which are very popular with tourists.


Mr. Truong Quoc Nhat - owner of Nhat Hanh restaurant (beach A) said: “I am a local so I understand and love my hometown's sea very much. Not following the direction of bustling competitive business, we focus on the quality of food sources, the way of processing dishes to preserve the natural sweetness as much as possible; the decoration space tends to be cool and green, not interfering too much to lose the rustic beauty of the beach. Currently, 100% of squid, crab, and shrimp I get from the daily fishing boats of local fishermen, maybe 2-3 times a day to ensure freshness, serving customers swimming in the early morning and late afternoon. Visitors can choose seafood themselves from temporary tanks, supervise the preliminary and processing process".
It is estimated that since the opening of the tourist season (April 27) until now, Thach Hai beach has welcomed about 20-30 thousand visitors to swim and enjoy seafood. The number of visitors tends to increase compared to previous years, with the hottest days receiving over 3,000 people. Visitors to Thach Hai beach usually swim in the early morning and late afternoon. In addition to cooling off on hot summer days, the advantages of pristine scenery and fresh air have attracted visitors who want to immerse themselves in nature.

To promote the unique advantages of Thach Hai beach, the local government is also organizing and rearranging the management process in a more systematic and meticulous manner. The commune continues to maintain an environmental sanitation team, collect waste, and clean the beach areas daily to keep the landscape and environment clean; the rescue team at sea ensures the safety of tourists. Mass organizations, people, and businesses regularly clean the sea and business spaces; limit the use of disposable plastic products, encourage the form of "traceless tourism" ...; strengthen the inspection of food safety and prices of restaurants. This year, the commune will also put into operation a parking area and free public shower to attract more and more tourists to Thach Hai.
In the long term, the local government and people of Thach Hai commune hope that the Government, ministries and central agencies will soon have a solution to the Thach Khe iron mine problem, from which the commune can orient to build more community tourism models, homestay, eco-tourism to increase the number of guests staying, contributing to the growth of local tourism.
