The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has granted conditional licenses for four teams to participate in the V.League.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has agreed to grant conditional licenses to four teams to participate in the V.League 2026/27 season.

On May 8th, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation, the Licensing Committee met to decide on granting licenses to clubs to participate in the 2026/27 National Championship. At this meeting, the members of the Licensing Committee made official decisions regarding the licensing of clubs to participate in the next V.League season.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has agreed to grant conditional licenses to four teams to participate in the 2026/27 V.League season: Truong Tuoi Dong Nai, Bac Ninh , Hai Phong, and Dong A Thanh Hoa.

East Asia Thanh Hoa is facing many difficulties.

" For Hai Phong Football Club and Dong A Thanh Hoa Football Club, the two clubs must submit documents completing the financial and administrative personnel criteria no later than May 22, 2026. After the aforementioned deadline, clubs that do not complete the dossiers will have their licenses reviewed and revoked by the Licensing Board ," the Vietnam Football Federation further informed.

In reality, Dong A Thanh Hoa is still facing significant financial difficulties after having to sell off a number of key players recently. Despite significant changes at the top level, they have performed well and had many exciting matches recently. The team from Thanh Hoa has 21 points and a strong chance of avoiding relegation.

Meanwhile, Hai Phong FC maintains a stable performance but will part ways with several key players and coach Chu Dinh Nghiem for the next season. Hai Phong relies heavily on its budget, while Thanh Hoa is struggling due to sponsor difficulties. Both clubs are urgently completing the necessary paperwork for the VFF to register for the next season.

Also at this meeting, the Licensing Board unanimously agreed to grant licenses to 12 clubs to participate in the National Championship for the 2026/27 season, including: Becamex Ho Chi Minh City; Hanoi Police; Ho Chi Minh City Police; Hanoi FC; Hong Linh Ha Tinh; Hoang Anh Gia Lai; Nam Dinh; Ninh Binh; PVF-CAND; Song Lam Nghe An; SHB Da Nang; and The Cong – Viettel.
