To concretize the policies and guidelines on digital transformation in education, the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association, in collaboration with the Maple Science, Technology & Economic Development Center (Maple STC) and the ABE Testing Organization (UK), is organizing a series of in-depth workshops titled "Applications of AI in Vocational Education: From Policy to Practice".

In-depth workshop "Applications of AI in Vocational Education : From Policy to Practice".
The first workshop, themed "Applications of AI for Counseling, Career Guidance, and Student Recruitment," was held on the morning of May 9th at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Economics, attracting a large number of delegates from educational institutions, technology organizations, and policymakers.
Mr. Do Huu Khoa, Standing Committee Member and Head of the Digital Transformation Committee of the Vietnam Association of Vocational Education, stated that the series of workshops is a concrete step in implementing the State's strategic directions on digital transformation. Through the automation of repetitive tasks, big data analysis, personalized learning, and career trend forecasting, AI opens up new avenues for training institutions to optimize resources and increase the effectiveness of reaching learners.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Phuc, Director of Research and Product Development at Workerbot Co., Ltd., stated that vocational education institutions in Ho Chi Minh City and many other provinces and cities are facing three major challenges in student recruitment.
"Firstly, it's difficult to reach the right target students, especially in the context of high competition with universities; secondly, recruitment resources are limited, and there is no effective student data management system; and thirdly, there is a lack of personalized communication tools and automated counseling support, leading to increased recruitment costs without commensurate effectiveness," Mr. Phuc pointed out.

Mr. Phuc introduced the AI application model for automated admissions counseling, supporting candidates through Facebook, Zalo OA, and the website of Van Lang College.
According to Mr. Phuc, if applied correctly, AI will be a powerful tool to help schools save time and costs, and improve student recruitment efficiency.
Specifically, AI helps analyze student behavior, career interests, geographic location, and information search journeys to personalize admissions messages. These messages are then sent to students at the right time.
The AI chatbot can provide 24/7 consultation, answering all questions from students and parents, and can also automatically handle the application process on the school's digital platform. The AI system, integrated with CRM, helps analyze conversion rates and effective touchpoints, suggesting optimal strategies for enrollment campaigns.
