The expansion of Noi Bai International Terminal T2 is progressing at a rapid pace, easing infrastructure pressure.

The Noi Bai International Airport Terminal T2 expansion project commenced in May 2024 and was completed after more than 18 months, ensuring absolute safety for hundreds of flights operating daily.

The inauguration of the project at this time is particularly important, as it will promptly alleviate the congestion at the largest airport gateway in the North before the peak Tet holiday and the 2026 tourist season.

The project increases the total floor area of the terminal to over 200,000 m², raising its operating capacity from 10 million to 15 million passengers per year (potentially up to 18 million passengers per year), and enhancing operational capacity with the number of boarding gates increasing from 17 to 30 and the number of jet bridges from 14 to 27, meeting the growing demand for international transportation.

Beyond simply expanding infrastructure, the expanded T2 passenger terminal also symbolizes a significant shift in ACV's digital transformation strategy.

Instead of being implemented in isolation, for the first time, a comprehensive digital technology ecosystem has been deployed at an international terminal in Vietnam. From check-in kiosks and self-bag drop systems to automated immigration lanes and biometric security controls, everything creates a seamless "digital flow."

This is a groundbreaking step aimed at fundamentally changing the operating method, shifting from manual to automated processes, optimizing operational capacity and enhancing the passenger experience.

Beyond technology, the project also leaves its mark on sustainable architectural thinking (Green Airport). The terminal space is designed to be open, maximizing natural light and integrating ecological green spaces, creating relaxing "breathing spaces" amidst the hustle and bustle of the airport. At the same time, local cultural values are subtly integrated into the modern space, affirming Noi Bai's position as the first cultural "touchpoint" welcoming international friends.

Immediately after attending the inauguration of the T2 International Passenger Terminal expansion project, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh boarded a special flight, VN1, operated by Vietnam Airlines, departing from Noi Bai International Airport at 6:30 AM and landing at Long Thanh International Airport at 8:15 AM. This was the first flight to land at Long Thanh International Airport.

After nearly five years of commencement and construction, Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport project has been completed and achieved 4F standards (the highest level of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO). This is a significant milestone, a testament to a "construction miracle" with unprecedented speed. Long Thanh Airport opens up new development opportunities for the Southern key economic region, gradually realizing the goal of making Vietnam a regional and global aviation hub.

At Long Thanh International Airport, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended the inauguration ceremony of the facilities and the launch of the first flight at Long Thanh International Airport.

The Long Thanh International Airport construction project, Phase 1, comprises four sub-projects: Sub-project 1 - State management agency headquarters buildings, with relevant state management agencies as the investors. Sub-project 2 - Air traffic control facilities, with the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) as the investor. Sub-project 3 - Essential airport facilities, with ACV as the investor, including: Passenger terminal, Cargo terminal No. 1, Parking garage; airfield facilities (runways, taxiways, aviation lights, ILS/DME systems, etc.); aircraft parking apron; and aircraft fuel supply system. Other supporting works, general infrastructure, roads, parking lots, bridges, tunnels, power supply, water supply and drainage, lighting, telecommunications... Component Project 4 - Other works, the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) is responsible for selecting investors to implement.
