Starting at 9:00 AM this morning (December 19th), a particularly important political event is taking place simultaneously across the country: the groundbreaking, inauguration, and technical opening of 234 projects and works commemorating the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day and welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party. The central point of connection is located at the Olympic Sports Urban Area project (Thuong Phuc commune, Hanoi).
According to the Ministry of Construction 's summary, the construction and inauguration projects on this occasion have a total investment of over 3.4 million billion VND, many of which are nationally symbolic projects; of which, 96 projects have over 627 trillion VND of state capital, accounting for 18% of the total investment, and 138 projects with over 2.79 million billion VND from other sources, accounting for 82% of the total.

Cultural performances were held to welcome the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phu Binh Industrial Park infrastructure investment, construction, and business project.
On the morning of December 19th, in harmony with the nationwide celebrations of groundbreaking, inauguration, and technical opening ceremonies, Thai Nguyen province solemnly held the inauguration of the Provincial Stadium; the groundbreaking ceremony for the investment project to build and operate the infrastructure of Phu Binh Industrial Park; and the social housing project in Viet Han Urban Area.
At the three locations in Thai Nguyen province, leaders from the central and provincial governments participated. Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Phu Binh Industrial Park infrastructure investment, construction, and business project.
Three key, large-scale projects inaugurated or commenced in Thai Nguyen province on this occasion have a total investment of nearly 13,000 billion VND. Among them, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium project, with a capacity of 22,000 seats and a total investment of nearly 536 billion VND, is being built on an area of over 15 hectares. Currently, the project has completed technical acceptance testing, fire safety inspections, and is ready for inauguration.
Immediately after its inauguration, from December 21st to 27th, Thai Nguyen province hosted the Four-Team Football Tournament on this field, featuring renowned professional teams including Hanoi FC, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, The Cong Viettel, and PVF Public Security. The Phu Binh Industrial Park infrastructure construction and business investment project covers an area of 675 hectares with a total investment of over 11,369 billion VND. The project is invested by Kinh Bac Urban Development Corporation - JSC.
This is a large-scale project, playing a crucial role in expanding Thai Nguyen's industrial park infrastructure to attract investment and create jobs. The social housing project in the Viet Han Urban Area comprises 1,128 apartments with a total investment of nearly 982 billion VND. The project is invested by Viet Han Capital Investment Joint Stock Company. Upon completion, the project will meet the housing needs of workers, laborers, and policy beneficiaries, contributing to the province's social housing development goals.

On the morning of December 19th, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province held a ceremony to inaugurate the Ho Chi Minh Highway construction project, specifically the eastern bypass section of Buon Ma Thuot city, and to officially open component 3 of the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway construction project for technical traffic. On December 19th, at the Van Don Economic Zone in Quang Ninh province, Sun Group officially commenced construction of the high-end casino and tourism complex project. This event is part of a group of large-scale projects simultaneously launched and inaugurated nationwide to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the national resistance war and to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Flight VN1, operated by Vietnam Airlines using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, completed its Hanoi – Long Thanh journey in two hours, proudly carrying the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and nearly 100 passengers – the first passengers to disembark. The safe landing of a wide-body aircraft at Long Thanh International Airport on December 15th further affirms the airport's high level of readiness and the coordination capabilities between relevant authorities and service providers.
This is a significant event marking the official commencement of commercial operations here. On December 19th, coinciding with the inauguration of many key national projects, Vietnam Airlines was honored and proud to be the first airline to carry passengers to Long Thanh International Airport, inaugurating civil aviation activities at the new airport.
This event is of crucial importance to the formation of a modern aviation hub for the entire country, where Vietnam Airlines, as the national airline, will continue to play a core role in developing the flight network and enhancing domestic and international connectivity.
Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines, said: “The first passenger flight at Long Thanh not only marks a new operational journey for Vietnam Airlines but also a significant milestone in the modernization of Vietnam's aviation infrastructure. Along with operating its first passenger flight to Long Thanh Airport, Vietnam Airlines also launched new routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen and Hanoi to Cebu, and resumed flights at Vinh Airport. Simultaneously, the airline officially provided in-flight internet service and inaugurated lotus-themed lounges and check-in lounges at Vinh and Cam Ranh airports, demonstrating its proactive approach and readiness to serve customers, especially during the peak year-end season.

On the morning of October 19th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dong Hoi central social housing project took place in Dong Hoi ward, Quang Tri province. This was one of the televised events for the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies of projects and works celebrating the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. According to the investor, Dong Hoi Central Social Housing Company Limited, the project consists of two 15-story apartment towers with 560 apartments built in the center of Dong Hoi ward. Each apartment ranges in size from 36m2 to 75m2. In addition to the residential buildings, the project also includes a comprehensive system of green spaces, landscaping, and technical infrastructure in the area. The total investment is 638 billion VND.

Previously, the Ministry of Construction compiled a list of 234 projects in 34 provinces/cities that met the conditions for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening to traffic; of which, 148 projects were commenced; 86 projects were inaugurated and technically opened to traffic; 38 projects belonged to ministries and sectors; 39 projects belonged to corporations and general companies; and 157 projects belonged to localities. The total investment of these projects was over 3.4 million billion VND, of which 96 projects were funded by the State with over 627 trillion VND; and 138 projects were funded by other sources with over 2.79 million billion VND.
According to the plan, the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony will take place on the morning of December 19th, coinciding with the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025), in a hybrid format combining in-person and online participation at 79 locations. The main location is in Hanoi, with 11 live locations in various provinces and cities, and 67 online locations at construction sites and projects, connecting with other projects of ministries, sectors, and localities that have registered.
Out of a total of 237 projects and works that meet the conditions for commencement, inauguration, and technical opening to traffic, the Ministry of Construction proposed 79 bridge locations – symbolizing the 79th anniversary of the National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 - December 19, 2025) – based on the sector, economic region, role, and socio-economic significance of the projects and works.
The central hub is located at the Olympic Sports Urban Area project (Thuong Phuc commune, Hanoi), with a total investment of 925,000 billion VND.
In addition, 11 main locations held commemorative ceremonies included: Lao Cai (commencing Component 1 of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line construction project); Bac Ninh (commencing the Que Vo II Industrial Park infrastructure development project - Phase 2); Quang Ninh (commencing the high-end complex tourism service area in Van Don Economic Zone); Hanoi (2 locations: groundbreaking ceremony for the Red River landscape boulevard construction project in Hanoi; groundbreaking ceremony for the Olympic Sports City construction project in Hanoi); Hue (inauguration of Hue International General Hospital); Quang Ngai (commencing the Hoa Phat Dung Quat railway rail and special steel production project); Lam Dong (commencing the Tan Phu - Bao Loc expressway construction project); Ho Chi Minh City (commencing the Youth Cultural Center construction project); An Giang (commencing the urban tram line project, section 1); Can Tho city (inaugurated and opened for technical traffic on the main section of the North-South Expressway Eastern section Can Tho - Hau Giang - Ca Mau).
