Ancestor worship ceremony of the Black Lo Lo people

The ancestor worship ceremony is a traditional ritual of the Black Lo Lo ethnic group in Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province. The ceremony is held at the village cultural center on the 14th day of the 7th lunar month every year.

The ceremony consists of three main parts: the sacrificial ceremony; the memorial ceremony; and the farewell ceremony for the ancestors. Following the ceremonial part is the festive part with unique folk dances and games performed to the resounding sound of bronze drums echoing throughout the mountains and forests.

Today, the ancestor worship ceremony is preserved and promoted by the Black Lo Lo people, not only educating the community about their roots but also creating a unique tourism product. These traditional cultural values ​​help make Lo Lo Chai village an attractive destination for tourists.
