According to experts, in official history there is no concept of "Five Tiger Generals", this concept only gradually formed this name through the course of historical developments.

"Five Tiger Generals" or "Five Tiger Generals", "Five Tiger Generals" is a common title that once resonated for five military generals of the Shu Han Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period, including Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong. However, Liu Bei only appointed Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong as Vanguard, Hau, Ta and Huu generals, while Zhao Yun was only a Wing Army general, a lower rank. Therefore, some people think that it should be called "Four Tiger Generals" instead of "Five Tiger Generals". However, experts say that in official history there is no concept of "Five Tiger Generals", this concept only gradually formed this way of calling through the course of historical developments.

Triệu Vân là danh tướng được mô tả rất đẹp trai, có tài võ thuật hơn người.

Trieu Van is a famous general described as very handsome and has extraordinary martial arts talent.

In a recent study, Tam Quoc culture expert Dam Luong Khieu pointed out that the history books of the Three Kingdoms did not have the name Five Tiger Generals. The reason is because Tran Tho, a historian from the Shu Han to the Western Jin dynasties, in "Three Kingdoms - Shu Book" wrote the biographies of five Shu generals, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Huang Zhong and Zhao Yun in the same book, and highly appreciated them. Therefore, the novelist La Quan Trung of the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties called these five people Five Tiger Generals in the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and at the same time moved Zhao Yun's position before Ma Chao and Huang Zhong.

Expert Dam Luong Khieu believes that the order of the 5 people in Tam Quoc Chi is based on the achievements and achievements of the Shu generals during the Three Kingdoms period. Compared to the other 4 people, Trieu Van is indeed a bit inferior. However, Mr. Dam Luong Khieu also mentioned that although Liu Bei only appointed Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao and Huang Zhong as Vanguard, Hau, Ta and Huu generals, while Trieu Van was only a lower-ranking Wing Army general, after his death, he was still posthumously honored like the other 4 people, and even the late Lord Liu Shan issued a special edict praising Trieu Van's achievements.

Được đánh giá kém hơn 4 danh tướng còn lại nhưng Triệu Vân thực sự là một tướng tài.

Although rated lower than the other four famous generals, Trieu Van was truly a talented general.

Expert Vien Dinh Dong, who specializes in Ba Thuc culture, said the difference between "Three Kingdoms" and "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" reflects the difference between history and literature. "Modern people often know the characters of the Three Kingdoms through works of art and drama, but rarely read official history books. This leads to many people confusing historical facts with literary fiction," he said.

The debate over the “Five Tiger Generals” once again reminds us of the importance of distinguishing between history and literature, between fact and fiction. Although the title “Five Tiger Generals” may not be historically accurate, it remains a symbol of the bravery and talent of Shu Han generals, and demonstrates the appeal and influence of Three Kingdoms culture for many generations.

Perhaps, the important thing is not to argue about who is the real "tiger general", but to appreciate and learn from the historical lessons and values left by the Three Kingdoms characters.
