(NLĐO) – With two sessions per week, the free swimming classes at the Ho Chi Minh City Aquatic Sports Center attract a large number of participants.

Recognizing the importance of promoting swimming skills not only among children but also adults, the Ho Chi Minh City Aquatic Sports Center has launched free swimming classes, starting with officials and employees of the Culture and Sports sector and expanding to all citizens of the city. This is part of a general plan by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports to encourage people to improve their physical fitness.

Mr. Chung Tan Phong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Aquatic Sports Center and one of the instructors at the free swimming class, shared: "For many years, most of us have focused on eliminating swimming illiteracy among children, but adults have not received adequate attention. While adults (i.e., parents) who know how to swim can provide guidance and support to their children during the learning process, it would be much better."

In this first phase, classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and will consist of 10 sessions.

"I'm very pleased that the Department of Culture has provided me with 10 swimming lessons like this. Today's lesson allowed me to practice breathing underwater, and I feel very excited and my health has improved," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Hop (in the black shirt).

The second round of free swimming lessons for all city residents will be held from September 9th to October 14th. The center will provide detailed information on its website, fanpage, and other media channels to facilitate registration. The second round has no limit on membership, and each person will receive 10 lessons, similar to the first round.
