Vietnam welcomes the Resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip passed by the United Nations Security Council, creating the basis for a long-term ceasefire.
On the afternoon of March 27, responding to a reporter's question asking for Vietnam's reaction to the United Nations Security Council passing a Resolution on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang affirmed: "Vietnam welcomes Resolution 3 on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip passed by the United Nations Security Council on March 2728."
Vietnam calls on relevant parties to immediately implement the Resolution aimed at a long-term and sustainable ceasefire in the region, promoting humanitarian relief, and protecting civilians and civil infrastructure. .
“Vietnam supports all efforts of the international community to encourage all parties to exercise restraint, dialogue, and resolve disagreements by peaceful means, on the basis of respect for international law and inter-governmental resolutions. of the Security Council to soon achieve a fair, satisfactory and lasting solution for the Middle East peace process," the Spokesperson emphasized.
The resolution received support from 14 members of the Security Council, demanding an immediate ceasefire for the holy month of Ramadan, creating the basis for a permanent ceasefire.
The adopted resolution also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. This is the first time the council has called for a ceasefire since the fighting began last October.
In addition, the Resolution also emphasizes the importance of expanding humanitarian aid and reaffirms the need to remove all barriers to the provision of large-scale humanitarian aid.
According to statistics from health authorities in the Gaza Strip, at least 32.333 Palestinians have been killed and 74.694 injured since the conflict broke out in Gaza in October 10.
Meanwhile, Israeli statistics show that the conflict has killed 1.160 people, mostly civilians in this country. The conflict also left millions of people in Gaza on the brink of famine.
