On the afternoon of February 19, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Cambodia Sar Sokha.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance and gives top priority to continuously consolidating and developing the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability with Cambodia; and always supports a peaceful , stable, prosperous Cambodia with an increasingly affirmed role and position in the region and the world.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior, expressing confidence that the two Ministries would develop a friendly cooperative relationship, jointly addressing issues of mutual concern; strengthening exchanges and sharing on strategic issues. At the same time, they should coordinate effectively in advising high-level leaders of both countries on security matters, promptly and effectively resolving issues arising from the grassroots level; cooperating in digital transformation, building population data, etc.
The Prime Minister requested Cambodia to continue granting citizenship to people of Vietnamese origin residing in Cambodia; to promote border cooperation; to coordinate efforts to combat transnational crimes, especially drug trafficking, human trafficking, and online fraud rings… At the same time, to combat hostile forces undermining the two countries and their relations; and to rescue and repatriate Vietnamese citizens who are being detained or forced into labor due to online fraud in Cambodia.
In particular, we will promote the consideration and granting of citizenship to people of Vietnamese origin who are living and working stably and legally, integrating well into the local society, and serving as a bridge of friendship between the two countries; we will promote the demarcation and placement of border markers, resolve outstanding issues along the border, and build a peaceful, stable, friendly, cooperative, and mutually developing border.
