The 10-year socio -economic development strategy (2021-2030) of the 13th Party Congress affirmed that developing a digital government, digital economy, and digital society is an essential step and a crucial springboard for enhancing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese economy. Decision 749/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister approving the national digital transformation program until 2025, with a vision to 2030; and Resolution No. 02 of the Party Committee of the Central Business Bloc on implementing digital transformation in enterprises and units within the bloc until 2025, with a vision to 2030, encourage businesses to undergo digital transformation to increase competitiveness and keep pace with global trends. In particular, digital transformation in the banking sector plays a very important role because it is a vital sector of the economy. On May 11, 2021, the State Bank of Vietnam issued Decision No. 810/QD-NHNN approving the “Plan for Digital Transformation of the Banking Sector until 2025, with a vision to 2030”. Accordingly, the goal is to comprehensively modernize the management activities of the State Bank of Vietnam, based on the effective application and exploitation of the achievements of the 4.0 industrial revolution, fully meeting the criteria and indicators of digital transformation set by the Government, and developing digital banking models to increase convenience and customer experience, and achieving inclusive finance and sustainable development by promoting the application of new and advanced technologies in management, operation, and product and service provision, towards process automation and optimization of business operations.

Building on its successes and reputation, the unit continues to be trusted to cooperate with the Ministry of Public Security in deploying the MoC solution application on chip-embedded citizen identification cards (CCCD), allowing citizens to use their CCCD for identification and to conduct transactions through bank accounts and cards.
