Participating in the Smart Factory Development Support Project, jointly implemented by Samsung Vietnam, has helped Vina Technology JSC ( Thai Nguyen ) to implement many important improvements, from upgrading production infrastructure and developing human resources to optimizing material inventory management, thereby improving product quality and operational efficiency.

Vina Technology is an industrial manufacturing company based in Thai Nguyen – a province emerging as a high-tech manufacturing hub in the North. Facing increasingly stringent quality requirements, especially for products demanding a clean and stable production environment, the company has identified upgrading cleanroom standards and standardizing processes as crucial steps in its roadmap to building a smart factory.
As part of a consulting project with Samsung, Vina Technology upgraded its cleanroom from Class 10,000 to Class 1,000, along with reviewing and standardizing production environment control processes. As a result, the foreign object defect rate decreased by 68.7%, significantly improving quality stability and reducing production costs.
Besides infrastructure improvements, the smart factory project also focuses on the human element. Accordingly, Vina Technology organized 26 internal training courses, with more than 300 staff members participating. The training content focused on improving operational skills in cleanroom environments, process compliance, quality awareness, and continuous improvement. The company assessed that the systematic and thorough training helped the workforce adapt more quickly to new production standards.
Another improvement implemented under Samsung's guidance was the modernization of materials warehouse management. Vina Technology reorganized its warehouse using a rack system, standardizing storage locations and material identification. As a result, material search time was drastically reduced from approximately 60 seconds to just 10 seconds, contributing to shorter production preparation times and reduced waste in internal logistics.
According to the company representative, the improvements in the smart factory project are being implemented holistically, with a clear roadmap, rather than through piecemeal investments. "Upgrading cleanroom standards, training personnel, and improving the materials warehouse helps us better control quality and production flow, laying the foundation for deeper digitalization steps in the future," shared the Vina Technology representative.
From a professional perspective, the results at Vina Technology demonstrate the tangible effectiveness of the smart factory consulting model, as businesses correctly identify bottlenecks for investment and improvement. Significantly reducing foreign object errors, enhancing personnel capabilities, and optimizing operations are considered crucial foundations for businesses to continue upgrading production standards and meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the industrial supply chain in the coming period.
