VinBigdata's consecutive and highly-regarded achievements in Vietnam and internationally have demonstrated the capabilities of its scientific research team as well as the technological quality of its "made in Vietnam" products.
AI products elevate the lives of Vietnamese people.
“ViVi 2.0 integrates AI technology in a way that is incredibly impressive. From history and geography to recommendations for restaurants and tourist attractions, ViVi can answer any question without difficulty. The responses are very flexible, just like a real person,” shared Mr. Hoang Linh, a customer experiencing ViVi 2.0 on a VF 8 Lux Plus in Hanoi .
Not only Linh, but also experts and many users were surprised by the intelligence of ViVi 2.0 and the capabilities of the development team – VinBigdata.
The next-generation AI product is considered superior to its predecessor in its ability to interact flexibly according to different contexts. Instead of asking and answering questions with a virtual assistant through pre-set commands, users can now converse naturally on a variety of topics such as history, culture, geography, famous people, and more.

In addition to its massive knowledge base of up to 3,500 TB of specific data and over 30,000 hours of high-quality voice data, the ViVi 2.0 virtual assistant also boasts significant improvements in speech recognition, understanding, and context analysis to respond to users accurately and appropriately.
Along with the ViVi virtual assistant, VinBigdata is also renowned for successfully developing products integrating language and speech processing technology such as ViChat (an AI-generated chatbot), ViVoice (an AI-generated callbot), and ViGPT (the first Vietnamese version of ChatGPT for end users).
These AI products are currently being deployed within the Vingroup ecosystem, along with dozens of businesses and government agencies nationwide, such as the Ministry of Information and Communications (in testing with the Information Center), ACB Bank, Lado Taxi, etc., helping to automate many manual tasks. The products are evaluated as helping businesses and organizations optimize resources and enhance user experience, while enabling users to access and utilize services quickly, simply, and efficiently.
Mastering voice technology opens new avenues for the world.
In addition to its already launched products, many of VinBigdata's new research projects are being highly regarded by the global scientific community.
Specifically, just six months after announcing the launch of ViGPT - the first "Vietnamese version of ChatGPT" for end users (December 2023), VinBigdata has taken another step forward in researching and integrating big language models to improve the quality of speech recognition systems.
| ViBio voice biometric technology has received international certification for voice spoofing prevention according to NIST standards. |
This scientific achievement has just been approved and will be announced at Interspeech 2024 (the world's largest and most comprehensive conference on speech processing technology) this September. In the research, VinBigdata proposes a new architecture that uses big language models to provide contextual information, helping AI systems improve the accuracy of speech recognition.
This research opens a new avenue that could potentially address the current limitations of speech recognition systems, especially under unfavorable conditions such as noisy environments, regional accents, lack of contextual information, and the use of rare words (proper names, loanwords, etc.). Experimental results confirm that VinBigdata's system improves the average word error rate (WER) by up to 30% compared to conventional speech recognition systems.
Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh (Product Director of VinBigdata) stated: “The scientific publication at the leading international conference, Interspeech, demonstrates that our investment in researching and mastering core-level speech technology is on the right track. With this research, VinBigdata expects to gradually apply this new technology to increase the efficiency, accuracy, and user experience when interacting with AI systems such as virtual assistants . ”
In addition to the aforementioned research, ViBio – VinBigdata's voice biometrics product – has also recently been certified to ISO 19795-1 and ISO 19795-2 standards by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) of the United States. Testing by FIME (a laboratory under the NIST/NVLAP program in the United States) showed that ViBio's algorithm has superior accuracy in voice authentication, with a false authentication rate of only 0.00175% on voice samples collected in Vietnam.
Prior to achieving these two new milestones with Interspeech and NIST certification, VinBigdata already boasted nearly 100 scientific publications in leading international journals and conferences. This provides a solid foundation for the development of VinBigdata's technology products and contributes to realizing the aspiration of bringing Vietnamese intelligence to the world stage, a vision cherished by the team of Vietnamese experts and engineers.
“In the future, we will continue to invest in technology research, strengthen our database, and develop advanced AI products capable of solving the challenging problems faced by Vietnamese people and businesses, contributing to the country's comprehensive digital transformation and affirming Vietnam's technological capabilities on the international stage,” shared Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh.
NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) is the abbreviation for the National Institute of Standards and Technology of the United States and is a mandatory requirement for any organization doing business with the US government and many state agencies. NIST develops standards and guidelines on information security. By being recognized with international quality standards by NIST, VinBigdata's ViBio product can compete globally, ensuring secure voice biometric authentication, preventing information leaks, and limiting the risk of potential impersonation.
