Information from Vingroup said that on September 8, the group filed a civil lawsuit, reported to the authorities and sent documents to embassies about 68 domestic and foreign organizations and individuals posting false information about the group on the internet.
This move, according to Vingroup, is not only to protect the legitimate rights and interests of businesses but also for the benefit of society as well as the dignity of the law.
Vingroup sues 68 domestic and foreign organizations and individuals for "distorting and providing false information"
The accounts being sued are identified as owners of information pages and personal pages on social networks such as TikTok, Facebook, YouTube... with acts of distortion and fabrication related to Vingroup Corporation and senior leaders, including Vingroup Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong. The false content focuses on 4 main topics: financial situation, product quality and origin, legal issues, and personal information of leaders.
Some accounts have spread the news that Vingroup is "at risk of bankruptcy" with a debt of up to 800,000 billion VND. However, according to the consolidated financial report published on the group's website, the total debt is currently only about 283,000 billion VND, the debt-to-equity ratio is 1.8 times - a level considered safe by international standards. The remaining payables are mainly revenue received in advance from customers, partners and obligations arising normally in business operations.
In addition, many information on social networks also accuse VinFast cars and electric motorbikes of being "disguised" as products from China. Contrary to this, VinFast claims to have mastered the production chain, from research, design to manufacturing, with a localization rate of 60% and a goal of increasing to 80% in the future. Many rumors also revolve around fabricating information about the group's leadership or distorting legal issues regarding the products to mislead public opinion.
According to regulations, these acts violated the 2018 Law on Cyber Security, the 2015 Penal Code and civil rights protected by Vietnamese law. Internationally, the dissemination of false information, infringing on the reputation and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals are also strictly handled.
"We are living in a civilized and law-abiding society. We cannot just bow our heads and stay silent while some people arbitrarily violate the law, fabricate, distort, mislead public opinion, and lower the reputation and dignity of any organization or individual they want for illegal motives. Therefore, we filed a lawsuit and reported to the authorities not only to protect Vingroup's interests but also to fight for the truth, for a better life for everyone. I believe that all Vietnamese and international people with conscience support this" - Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vingroup, emphasized.
A representative of Vingroup said that the group has collected sufficient evidence and made a record of the infringement of 68 related subjects to initiate a civil lawsuit and report to the competent authorities. The group also coordinated with domestic and foreign lawyers to file lawsuits in accordance with the law in the relevant countries, and sent notices to embassies to protect its legitimate rights.
