Today (October 6): Coffee, pepper and rice prices are all stable

Today (October 6): Coffee prices remain unchanged from yesterday; pepper prices remain stable in the highlands at 144,000 - 146,000 VND/kg and rice prices also remained unchanged from the beginning of the week.

Accordingly, traders in the old Dak Nong region are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 117,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 117,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province remained unchanged from yesterday and were traded at VND116,800/kg.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices remained unchanged from yesterday at VND116,500/kg.

At the end of last week, domestic coffee prices were traded in the range of 116,500 - 117,000 VND/kg, up from 1,500 to 2,200 VND/kg, equivalent to an increase of 1.1 to 1.9% compared to the previous week.

Specifically, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong (old) remained unchanged, trading at 145,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak, pepper price today remains at 146,000 VND/kg.

In Gia Lai, pepper prices also remained stable at 144,000 VND/kg.

According to the International Pepper Community (IPC), the global pepper market remains sluggish. After three consecutive weeks of decline, pepper prices have temporarily stopped falling but there is no clear momentum for recovery.

In Indonesia, Lampung black pepper was kept at USD 7,013/ton; in Brazil, ASTA 570 black pepper was traded around USD 6,200/ton. Malaysia maintained Kuching ASTA black pepper price at USD 9,500/ton and white pepper at USD 12,500/ton.

For Vietnam, exported black pepper of 500g/l and 550g/l grades remained in the range of 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton, while ASTA white pepper was at 9,250 USD/ton.

IPC believes that the pepper market still lacks demand, and no major producing country has shown signs of strong growth again.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) today fluctuates at 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg; the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,000 - 5,200 VND/kg; the price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,400 - 5,600 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 308 rice fluctuates at 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg.

Similar to rice, the price of OM 380 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg; OM 5451 raw rice for export fluctuates at 8,300 - 8,400 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice for export fluctuates at 8,100 - 8,250 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice for export fluctuates at 8,150 - 8,250 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

At retail markets, prices of all types of rice are stable. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 28,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000 VND/kg; regular rice fluctuates at 13,000 - 15,000 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; common white rice 16,000 VND/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice costs 20,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice costs 22,000 VND/kg.

In the Vietnamese rice export market, according to the Vietnam Food Association, the current price of 5% broken fragrant rice fluctuates between 440 - 465 USD/ton; 100% broken rice fluctuates between 315 - 319 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice fluctuates between 495 - 499 USD/ton.
