On September 29, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association organized the awarding of certificates for 9 typical culinary dishes in phase I - 121 and announced phase II - 2022 of the project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture becomes a national brand".

In order to find, restore, preserve, promote and develop Vietnamese culinary culture to new heights, with the orientation of turning heritage into assets, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association (VCCA) has developed Launching the Project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand, period 2022 - 2024".
The project conducts surveys and collects data to build a "Column of 1.000 typical Vietnamese culinary dishes" and converts that database into "Online map of Vietnamese cuisine" and "Online map of Vietnamese cuisine" Online museum of Vietnamese cuisine".
In phase I of 2022, the Project received 421 culinary dish nominations sent from 60/63 provinces and cities, thereby selecting 121 typical Vietnamese culinary dishes.
Among them, there are 47 Northern dishes, 37 Central dishes and 37 Southern dishes. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City has 5 culinary dishes (Saigon broken rice, Saigon bread, fish sauce hot pot, Saigon rolls, crispy fried noodles), Hanoi has 4 culinary dishes (Hanoi pho; snail vermicelli including cold snail vermicelli and hot snail vermicelli; Vong village green rice includes rice cake, green rice cake, sticky rice with green rice, spring rolls; rice noodle soup). Quang Ninh has 3 dishes (Ha Long squid patties, sour white fish, Dam Ha purple ba kich wine). Dien Bien has 3 dishes (Mo chicken, buffalo skin salad, Thai ethnic grilled fish). Ha Giang has 3 dishes (fish, au tau porridge, corn pho). Thua Thien - Hue has 6 dishes (Hue beef noodle soup, roasted pork sweet soup, mussel rice, fig cake with vegetarian flower salad, vegetarian lotus leaf steamed rice), Ninh Thuan has 3 dishes (lamb cooked with green grapes Phan Rang, Phan Rang cactus water), Kon Tum has a dish (chicken hot pot with ginseng leaves). Binh Duong has three dishes (chicken mangosteen salad, eel porridge, banh beo bi)...
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, wishes to make Vietnamese culinary culture a national brand and a national tourism brand of Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association, shared that the key mission is to find, collect, embellish, and develop heritage and the quintessence of Vietnamese culinary culture to become into a national brand, turning Vietnam into the world's kitchen, thereby contributing to the preservation and promotion of Vietnamese cultural values, the Association has actively implemented the Project.
With the culinary dishes awarded today, the Association hopes that localities and units will develop projects and plans to continue to develop and further spread culinary cultural values, forming strengths of each locality. The Association hopes to have the joint contributions of businesses to promote and turn Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand and Vietnam's national tourism brand.
Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Le Phuc emphasized that publishing a list of typical Vietnamese dishes is very necessary to improve the quality of local cuisine. The Vietnam National Tourism Administration will strengthen activities to promote Vietnamese cuisine to international tourism markets.
Also at the ceremony, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association announced the Project "Building and developing Vietnamese culinary culture into a national brand" phase II - 2023.
Accordingly, the Project will implement the following contents and items: Support localities to form a set of events and activities to promote the development of the culinary cultural ecosystem; domestic and international communication and promotion; Support digital transformation of local culinary cultural activities on the same map platform, Vietnam Culinary Culture Museum (virtual).
In addition, the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association will deploy on the digital platform the compilation "Essence of Vietnamese Cuisine"; Organize voting for "Delicious dishes from my hometown"; Organizing the Vietnamese Tet Festival with culinary convergence activities across localities...
