Honoring 181 outstanding teachers

(To Quoc) - On the morning of November 26th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a closing ceremony for the City-level Excellent Teacher Competition for junior high schools in the 2024-2025 school year. 181 outstanding teachers from nearly 700 junior high schools across Hanoi were awarded prizes in three subjects: History and Geography (Geography sub-subject), Civic Education, and Physical Education.

The City-level Excellent Teacher Competition for Secondary Schools in the 2024-2025 school year took place from October 4th to November 4th. The competition attracted a diverse range of participants. Some teachers had nearly 30 years of teaching experience, demonstrating professional maturity and pedagogical skill; others were young, with limited experience, yet they designed and delivered creative and impactful lessons. Many teachers also served as union chairpersons or council secretaries. Many teachers faced challenging circumstances but, with determination and perseverance, demonstrated their talent and pedagogical prowess.

Each teacher is truly a role model of overcoming difficulties, self-learning, and creativity. The participation of teachers from disadvantaged schools, specialized schools, and private schools is a very encouraging sign for the emulation movement to innovate teaching and learning in the Hanoi education sector.

In its leadership role, the Department of Education and Training particularly commends 9 units, namely the Education and Training Departments of Thanh Xuan, Cau Giay, Dong Da, Long Bien, Ba Dinh, Gia Lam, Thanh Tri, Hoan Kiem, and Hoai Duc districts, for their thorough, decisive, responsible, and effective leadership, achieving outstanding results.

The Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training congratulated the teachers who won First Prize in the competition.

This year's city-level competition in Ba Dinh district saw six secondary school teachers from six schools participating. Each teacher competed in two categories: teaching a lesson according to the host school's lesson plan at the time of the competition, and presenting an educational method that contributes to improving the quality of teaching and student education at their school. In each category, the teachers invested in both content and innovative and creative approaches, choosing solutions that were appropriate to the psychology and age of their students.

All 6 teachers from Ba Dinh district participating in the City-level competition won awards, including 3 First Prizes and 3 Second Prizes. Specifically, Mr. Chu Thanh Hai (Nguyen Cong Tru Secondary School - Geography), Ms. Le Thi Lan (Phuc Xa Secondary School - Civic Education), and Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh (Giang Vo Secondary School - Physical Education) won First Prizes; Mr. Tran Minh Dung (Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School - Civic Education), Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan (Thanh Cong Secondary School - Physical Education), and Ms. Doan Thi Thom (Thang Long Secondary School - Geography) won Second Prizes. The teachers from Ba Dinh district participating in the City-level competition are truly exemplary teachers of the Capital city.

In addition, the education sector of Ba Dinh district received a certificate of commendation for "Achieving outstanding results in directing and organizing the City-level Excellent Teacher Competition for Secondary Schools in the 2024-2025 school year," continuing to maintain its achievements for many consecutive years. Ba Dinh district consistently ranks among the top districts in the city in terms of results in the excellent teacher and student competitions.

The annual competition for excellent secondary school teachers is not only held to honor teachers who excel in their professional skills but also serves as a solution to improve the quality of the teaching staff. This contributes to the development of education in the capital city.
