In her opening remarks at the awards ceremony, Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Vice President of Vietnam, President of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Learning, and Head of the Steering Committee for the 2023 Vietnam Talent Award, shared that, with the attention of the Party and State leaders, the 2023 Vietnam Talent Award, themed "Honoring talent, inspiring creativity," continues to honor authors and groups of authors with successful research works and products in five fields: Digital Technology, Science and Technology, Medicine and Pharmacy, Agriculture and Rural Development; and the Promotion of Learning - Self-Learning to Achieve Success, with Digital Technology remaining the core field.

A highlight of this year's competition is the participation of universities. "These are outstanding works, worthy of recognition, and it can be affirmed that the authors are all talented individuals of the nation, the national asset that needs continued attention so that they can fully develop their talents and intellect for the sustainable development of the country," emphasized Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan.

Digital technology is the core area of ​​the Award, themed "Connecting Data – Creating Value," aiming to find technology products that focus on exploiting, using, and connecting data to create new value and apply it effectively to serve the development of industry, digital technology, Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society in Vietnam.

Several scientific and technological products were honored at the Vietnam Talent Awards Ceremony.

Over the years, the Vietnam Talent Award has contributed to implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, developing high-quality human resources, attracting and utilizing talent, promoting research and transfer, and strongly applying the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to all areas of social life.

The award also successfully implemented the motto of promoting "Learning and talent development - building a learning society". From nominations by specialized councils in each field, the Vietnam Talent Award Council 2023 reviewed and selected 11 outstanding projects in 5 fields.

Specifically for the Digital Technology category, this year saw 156 entries, the highest number ever. The winning entries across various fields all met the established criteria: the products must be scientifically sound and innovative; have high applicability and wide reach; demonstrate good socio-economic effectiveness; and have promising development prospects.

At the awards ceremony, the organizing committee presented awards to individuals and groups with outstanding research projects and products. The 16th Vietnam Talent Awards ceremony honored the First Prize to the project "DKS - SINOVA Digitization and Simulation Software" by DKS Automation Electronic Technology Development Investment Company Limited – in the field of digital technology.

Relaunched after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam Talent Award has faced several objective difficulties, with many businesses, organizations, and individuals not proactively preparing to participate in the competition.

However, with the great determination and efforts of the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee, and the support of all levels, sectors, and localities, the Vietnam Talent Award has attracted the participation of more than 400 authors in the fields of Digital Technology, Medicine, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Education Promotion - Self-Learning to Achieve Success. It has also created enthusiasm, encouragement, and a movement to inspire young Vietnamese people to research and create products and research projects for application in life.

Vietnam Talent Award 2023

1. The exemplary individuals honored for their achievements in promoting education and self-learning include: Traditional medicine practitioner Dao Viet Thoan with the project "Research and preparation of a medicinal formula for treating burns with fat and improving the method of using medicine in the treatment of burn wounds for patients"; Mr. Le Phuoc Loc with the project "Multipurpose pruning shears"; Mr. Nguyen Van Hai with the project "Off-center sprinkler head"; Mr. Nguyen Van Ro with the project "Floating plow and a dream tractor for farmers"; and Ms. Bui Thi Mao with the project "Improving the method of growing and processing high-quality green tea recognized as OCOP 5-star".

2. The authors/groups of authors awarded prizes in the field of Medicine and Pharmacy include: Associate Professor, Doctor Do Quang Hung and MSc. Doctor Le Hoang Vinh with the work "Aesthetic rhinoplasty using entirely autologous rib cartilage (nasal bridge shaped using finely cut soft rib cartilage)" which won Second Prize; Dr. Pham Anh Tuan and colleagues with the work "Deep brain stimulation surgery for the treatment of Parkinson's disease" which won Third Prize; Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Hoang Bac and colleagues with the work "The value of biomarkers hTERT mRNA, AFP, AFP-L3, DCP in detecting hepatocellular carcinoma" which won the Promising Award.

3. The authors/groups of authors awarded prizes in the field of Agriculture include: Prof. Dr. Tran Dinh Hoa (chairperson) and participating members Dr. Tran Van Thai, MSc. Le Anh Duc, MSc. Do Xuan Cuong, MSc. Le Dinh Hung with the work "Research on new scientific and technological solutions in the design of works belonging to the Cai Lon - Cai Be Irrigation System" winning first prize; Dr. Nguyen Duc Tan, Dr. Le Lap, Dr. Nguyen Thi Tham with the work "Inactivated dual vaccine for the prevention of edema head disease and paratyphoid in pigs (COLISAL)" winning second prize.

4. The award-winning author in the field of Science and Technology is Dr. Truong Thanh Tung, whose work "Multipurpose cosmeceutical cream with antibacterial, antifungal, wound healing, burn and scar healing effects, application for rapid wound treatment in cases of natural disasters and epidemics" won third prize.

5. The "Promising and Potential Products" category includes the following projects: "Metric - E-Commerce Data Platform" by Data Science Joint Stock Company won second prize; "Weshare - Sustainable Fundraising Platform from Online Orders" by Weshare.asi Limited Company won third prize; and "VNPT Family Safe - Internet Management and Security Service for Families" by Information Technology Company won third prize.
