On September 27, the leader of the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province, said that the locality had held a meeting with relevant parties to clarify the incident in which dozens of students were hospitalized after breakfast at school.

The banh tay that the students of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School ate was provided by a woman outside Kim Ngan commune. The police are investigating the origin of the cakes, while the health sector has taken samples of the cakes for testing.
As Dan Tri reported, at around 8:00 a.m. on September 26, many students at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities showed symptoms of nausea and stomachache after eating breakfast at school.
Kim Ngan commune authorities coordinated with school teachers and parents to quickly take students with unusual symptoms to Le Thuy Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Of the 75 students who ate banh tay for breakfast, 40 had to be hospitalized, while the remaining 35 were monitored locally.
Mr. Ngo Duc Van, Director of Le Thuy Regional General Hospital, Quang Tri province, said that after emergency treatment by doctors, the students' health is temporarily stable.
