Vu Thu: Celebrating the 82nd anniversary of the Vietnamese elderly tradition

On the morning of June 2, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the Elderly Affairs Committee (NCT) of Vu Thu district held a ceremony to celebrate the 6nd anniversary of the traditional day of the elderly in Vietnam (June 82, 6 - - June 6, 1941). 6/6/2023) and 28 years of establishment of Vietnam Elderly Association.
At the celebration, the delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of NCT Vietnam. Over the past 82 years, the elderly in Thai Binh province in general and the elderly in Vu Thu district in particular have made very important contributions to the cause of struggle, national liberation and national construction. Traditional Vietnamese Elderly Day is an opportunity for us to look towards the elderly with deep gratitude and call on the entire population to actively participate in the elderly care movement.
Vu Thu district currently has over 45.500 elderly people, accounting for nearly 19% of the district's population, operating in 30 grassroots organizations and 29 branches. Over the years, the elderly in Vu Thu district have affirmed their position as the core nucleus of the patriotic emulation movement such as: "The young people emulate for good economy", "Building a strong Party and government". , "Building cultural life", "Study promotion, talent promotion, building a learning society" and participate in security and order protection, participate in social activities at the grassroots. Especially the elderly have contributed to the restoration of craft villages and local traditional products, thereby bringing practical effects, contributing to the stability at the grassroots and socio-economic development.
On this occasion, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the Provincial Psychiatric Hospital held an exchange and sharing session with the elderly in Vu Thu district on mental health care for the elderly.
