Windows 11 can be reinstalled via Windows Update.

Previously, to reinstall the system, Microsoft provided a tool called the Media Creation Tool, which offered the option to retain installed files, configurations, and applications. It was also a way to update the system without touching data; however, this was often time-consuming and somewhat cumbersome. Now, Microsoft is testing a new way to do this with a feature called Fix problems with Windows Update, expected to come to Windows 11 in the near future.

The new feature will allow reinstalling Windows 11 through Windows Update.

This feature has been shown in the beta channel for Windows Insider members; you can find it in Windows 11's Settings > System > Recovery. However, it is not currently available.

The description clearly shows how the option will allow users to "reinstall the current version of Windows (applications, files, and settings will be preserved)." Official documentation announcing the new feature in July 2023 also clarifies that this Windows reinstallation only affects the operating system and does not affect the rest of the user's data and settings. Windows Central states that the process takes 11 minutes, although this may vary depending on the PC configuration, such as how much storage the computer uses.

The new feature is expected to launch in February or March next year as part of the Windows 11 Moment 5 update and will certainly be a useful proposition for those who want to reinstall the operating system without affecting the rest of their installation.
