In recent years, the global and regional situation has evolved rapidly, becoming complex and difficult to predict. The Fourth Industrial Revolution has profoundly changed the form of warfare. Smart weapons, unmanned vehicles, combat robots, electronic warfare, cyberspace, and artificial intelligence (AI) are being widely applied; command and control systems are highly digitized and automated...
With a spirit of innovation and creativity, the training work of the entire army has made positive progress in both content and methods. Large-scale operational and strategic-level exercises; joint military and branch exercises; and regional defense exercises have been organized meticulously and realistically, contributing to improving the level of command and organization, coordination capabilities, mastery of weapons and technical equipment, and control of the battlefield.
In particular, the application of science and technology, digital transformation, and AI has yielded practical results. Simulation, virtual shooting ranges, digital maps, smart classrooms, etc., are being gradually invested in and exploited. Some units have applied data analytics technology in planning and evaluating training results; using unmanned aerial vehicles and modern reconnaissance equipment in exercises. These results demonstrate the correct direction in adapting to modern warfare and high-tech warfare.
However, in light of new demands, continued innovation in content and methods, and breakthroughs in improving the quality of combat training, are urgent requirements with long-term strategic significance. First and foremost, there must be a strong reform of training thinking. Training must begin with the combat objectives and characteristics of modern warfare; with our new organizational structure and weapons and equipment, linked to the tasks, geographical areas, and operational plans of each unit.
Training content must be practical, comprehensive, fundamental, in-depth, and modern; strengthening training in electronic warfare, cyber warfare, defense against high-tech weapons, and combat in conditions where the enemy uses precision fire, air, sea, and cyber attacks. For commanders and staff at all levels, emphasis should be placed on cultivating military thinking skills, the ability to assess and predict situations, and the ability to organize, manage, and coordinate combat operations. For platoons and individual soldiers, training must focus on mastering weapons and equipment, becoming proficient in tactics and techniques, and coordinating closely. Particular attention should be paid to enhancing political awareness and fortitude, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, and the readiness to accept and complete all assigned tasks through training and practical operations of the troops.

Training methods must continue to be innovated to promote the initiative and creativity of learners; closely combine tradition and modernity; integrate practical application with high-tech simulation; prioritize practical application, and conduct training that is relevant to the actual situation, terrain, and combat targets. Training management and administration must be scientific and adhere to principles; competitions, exercises, tests, and evaluations must be substantive, objective, and prioritize practical results and the ability of individuals and units to handle situations.
To improve the quality of training, Party committees must provide comprehensive and direct leadership; commanders must be attentive, exemplary, and practice what they preach; and relevant agencies must provide accurate, timely, and effective advice. Each training officer must truly be a source of inspiration, possessing both strong professional skills and unwavering political resolve, while also mastering new technologies. Every soldier must clearly understand that "the training ground is the battlefield"; training is the central task, the honor, and the responsibility of a military person.
The 2026 training commencement ceremony is not just an opening ritual, but a command to action. On every training ground, practice field, in every classroom, machine room, and duty shift, the spirit of determination must be concretized through serious training hours, quality exercises, and tangible results. The entire army must highly uphold its glorious heroic traditions, transform determination into action, and goals into concrete results, successfully completing the 2026 training tasks, building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern army, and firmly defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam in all situations.
