Walking leisurely through the streets: Hoang Van Thu, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Phan Dinh Phung... in the soft colors of Autumn, I suddenly realized the surprising changes of a ward located in the center of Thai Nguyen City. Still the same people, on this street, but now it seems to have become strange.
Roads are no longer encroached upon to store construction materials or display goods for sale; advertising signs no longer “swing and cling” to electric poles. Alleys and alleys become airy, convenient for trade and travel, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of residents.
Mr. Tran Dinh Thin, Chairman of Phan Dinh Phung Ward People's Committee, said: In 2022, the ward has 7 streets recognized by Thai Nguyen City People's Committee as "Urban Civilization". By 2023, we will focus on implementing civilized urban standards.
To achieve high results in building a civilized urban area, Phan Dinh Phung Ward has established a Steering Committee to implement civilized urban standards. Each specific criterion has a member of the Steering Committee in charge. The Ward has increased propaganda activities, widely disseminated the content of 9 criteria, 52 civilized urban indicators; the purpose and meaning of civilized urban standards so that cadres and people can fully grasp, understand and agree to participate.
In recent years, Phan Dinh Phung ward has been constantly moving and growing with Thai Nguyen city. It can be mentioned that the merger of residential groups at the end of 2019, from 40 merged to 26 residential groups. Or in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", the evaluation results in 2022, the whole ward has 26 residential groups achieving the title of "Cultural residential group", reaching 100%, of which 3 groups achieved 5 consecutive years; more than 5,800 households achieved the title of "Cultural family", reaching 91%. In 2023, Phan Dinh Phung ward has 5,867/5,960 households registered as "Cultural family", reaching 98.4%...
Returning to the story of civilized urban areas, the most visible thing is traffic. However, in the city center such as Phan Dinh Phung ward, in many locations, 1m2 of land can be equivalent to 1 tael of gold. However, to be worthy of being a civilized urban area, most households related to the roads agree and are willing to donate land for smooth traffic. Typical in land donation are people in residential groups: 4, 9, 11, 12, 13, 22, 25..., with more than 1,000 households donating more than 27,000m2 of land and assets on the land, estimated to be worth nearly 37 billion VND, to expand and upgrade traffic.
The owners of the urban areas have changed their thinking, knowing the common good, "daring" to put aside their own interests, agreeing to create a new look for the streets to become more civilized, rich and beautiful. Mr. Ngo Duc Khanh, Head of Residential Group 10, shared: The group has 287 households, more than 1,000 people. From socialized sources, the group has built 200 meters of wide concrete road to alley 5, lane 160 and the road from group 10 to group 9.
According to Ms. Pham Thi Chung, Vice Chairman of Phan Dinh Phung Ward People's Committee: Recently, the ward organized the launch of the pilot model "Ensuring urban beauty and environmental sanitation" on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street. Especially in residential groups 7, 13 and 19, people voluntarily contributed to building the "Inter-family trash can" model. In addition to the meaning of environmental protection, this is also a way for households to have more opportunities to be close, bond, support and help each other in life. Currently, this model is spreading to residential groups in the ward.
Talking to us, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuan, Head of the Front Committee of Residential Group 2, said: Building a ward that meets civilized urban standards is a big dream of all citizens. It is simply a matter of civilized behavior between people; people with the environment and every day when stepping out into the alley, seeing the green, clean, and beautiful streets. Therefore, the policy of building a civilized urban area in the ward has been quickly implemented and received the consensus and participation of all citizens.
