According to the City's Association for Promotion of Education, in the 2024-2025 school year, many families will continue to maintain and promote the tradition of studiousness through organizing rewards, establishing scholarship funds, and encouraging their children and grandchildren to study.
Typical examples include the Dam and Nguyen Huu clans' study promotion associations (An Khe ward), Dang clans' associations (Ngu Hanh Son ward), Tran Viet clans' associations (Hoa Xuan ward), Le clans' associations (Son Tra ward), Tran Dinh and Nguyen Van clans' associations (Hoa Tien commune)... These associations have become spiritual and material supports, accompanying the young generation in the process of studying and starting a career.
Among them, the Tran Viet clan (Hoa Xuan ward) is one of the typical examples of clan education promotion activities in the city. For many years, the clan has maintained meetings, commended and awarded descendants with excellent academic achievements, passing entrance exams to public universities.
Mr. Tran Cu, Deputy Head of Tran Viet Clan, said: “This year, the clan plans to hold a ceremony to commend and award certificates on August 25. It is expected that about 60 children will be awarded, equivalent to previous years. This is a source of pride and also a great motivation for future generations to continue to study and strive.”
The Tran Viet family has many exemplary students and workers, currently working in agencies, units, hospitals... in Da Nang and the whole country. Many have achieved remarkable achievements, made positive contributions to society, become the pride of the family and are role models for the younger generation to follow.
Not only the Tran Viet clan, the Tran Dinh clan (Hoa Tien commune) is also one of the typical studious clans in the city. According to Mr. Tran Dinh Lang, Head of the Tran Dinh Clan's Association for the Promotion of Learning, the entire clan currently has 457 households, has been recognized for many consecutive years as an "Outstanding Learning Clan", and has been honored to receive certificates of merit from the Central Association for the Promotion of Learning, the City People's Committee and the City Association for the Promotion of Learning.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Khoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Tien Commune, said that each clan is a "fortress" of education promotion in the community. To build studious clans like today, many clans have proactively established scholarship funds, mobilizing descendants living far from home and benefactors to contribute funds.
The annual student recognition ceremonies are not only an occasion for rewards but also a timely recognition of students' continuous efforts in their studies.
In addition, some clans also closely coordinate with schools, local authorities and grassroots education promotion associations to monitor the learning process of their children. From there, they have appropriate forms of support, especially for students with difficult circumstances but strong will to excel in their studies.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Dong, Vice Chairman of Hoa Xuan Ward People's Committee, when learning promotion activities are organized systematically within each family, the learning movement will not only stop at the family level but also spread to the community, creating a great source of strength to improve people's knowledge and train talents.
This is one of the important factors helping the city maintain its position as a leading locality in promoting learning and building a learning society.
