According to the City's Association for the Promotion of Learning, in the 2024-2025 school year, many clans will continue to maintain and strongly promote the tradition of valuing education through organizing awards ceremonies, establishing scholarship funds, and encouraging their children and grandchildren to study.
Typical examples include the Dam and Nguyen Huu clans' education promotion associations (An Khe ward), the Dang clan (Ngu Hanh Son ward), the Tran Viet clan (Hoa Xuan ward), the Le clan (Son Tra ward), and the Tran Dinh and Nguyen Van clans (Hoa Tien commune)... These associations have become and continue to be a source of spiritual and material support, accompanying the younger generation in their studies and career development.
Among them, the Tran Viet clan (Hoa Xuan ward) is one of the exemplary models of clan-based scholarship activities in the city. For many years, the clan has maintained the tradition of organizing gatherings, commending and awarding prizes to descendants who have achieved excellent academic results and been admitted to public universities.
Mr. Tran Cu, Deputy Head of the Tran Viet clan, said: “This year, the clan plans to hold a ceremony to commend and award certificates on August 25th. Approximately 60 children are expected to receive awards, similar to previous years. This is a source of pride and a great motivation for future generations to continue striving in their studies and endeavors.”
The Tran Viet family boasts many exemplary individuals who excel in academics and work, currently employed in various agencies, units, and hospitals in Da Nang and throughout the country. Many have achieved significant accomplishments, made positive contributions to society, become a source of pride for the family, and serve as role models for the younger generation.
Besides the Tran Viet clan, the Tran Dinh clan (Hoa Tien commune) is also one of the exemplary studious clans in the city. According to Mr. Tran Dinh Lang, Chairman of the Tran Dinh Clan's Education Promotion Association, the entire clan currently has 457 households and has been recognized as an "exemplary studious clan" for many years, proudly receiving commendations from the Central Education Promotion Association, the City People's Committee, and the City Education Promotion Association.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Khoa, Chairman of the Hoa Tien Commune People's Committee, each clan is a "fortress" for promoting education in the community. To build these studious clans, many clans have proactively established scholarship funds, mobilizing contributions from descendants living away from home and philanthropists.
The annual student awards ceremonies are not only an opportunity to reward students but also to promptly recognize their continuous efforts and hard work in their studies.
In addition, some clans closely cooperate with schools, local authorities, and local education promotion associations to monitor the academic progress of their children. This allows them to provide appropriate support, especially for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate a strong will to excel in their studies.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Dong, Vice Chairman of the Hoa Xuan Ward People's Committee, when educational promotion activities are organized systematically within each family lineage, the learning movement will not only remain within the family but will also spread to the community, creating a great source of strength to raise the intellectual level of the people and train talented individuals.
This is one of the key factors that helps the city maintain its position as a leader in promoting education and building a learning society.
