Many specific indicators

After the merger, Phu Lam commune has an area of ​​43.07 ^km² and a population of 33,168 people, bordering Tan Chau town. The economic development space has expanded, creating favorable conditions for multi-sectoral and multi-field development. While transportation infrastructure is not yet fully adequate, it will be seamlessly connected to the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway (via Chau Doc bridge) in the future; and connected to Dong Thap and Ho Chi Minh City (when the Tan Chau - Hong Nguy bridge is built). The locality has National Highway 80B running through it, facilitating the flow of goods with Cambodia. In addition, many roads have been paved or concreted, creating favorable conditions for travel, education, trade, and goods transportation for residents and businesses.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Phu Lam Commune Party Committee has set specific targets such as: Total state budget revenue over 5 years reaching 566 billion VND; an average annual growth rate of 8% in the total value of products in the commune; total social investment capital for the 2026-2030 period of 6,300 billion VND; average per capita income reaching 70 million VND by 2030, an increase of 5.2 million VND compared to 2025; the poverty rate according to the multidimensional poverty standard to be below 2% by 2030; the percentage of schools meeting national standards reaching 66.67%; the percentage of people participating in health insurance exceeding 97%; the percentage of trained workers among the total workforce reaching 75% by 2030; and the percentage of Party members and grassroots Party organizations successfully completing their annual tasks exceeding 90%.

Determined to implement

According to Vo Minh Luan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Phu Lam commune, to concretize the goals, targets, and breakthroughs of the new term, the commune's Party Committee will focus all its efforts on the key contents approved by the congress, including: promoting the application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in management, production development, services, and daily life; developing human resources and raising the intellectual level of the people through improving the quality of education and training; building a streamlined and efficient political system; focusing resources on planning and investing in connecting transportation with neighboring areas, anticipating the spillover effects from Tan Chau urban area; proposing to the province the planning and construction of industrial and handicraft clusters; upgrading transportation infrastructure, gradually concreting rural roads to serve agricultural production. At the same time, strengthening the building and rectification of the Party and the political system to be clean and strong; building a team of cadres with sufficient qualities and capabilities to meet the requirements of the tasks.

Simultaneously, Phu Lam focuses on developing agriculture towards concentrated, sustainable commodity production, linking value chains, forming concentrated specialized farming areas, producing high-value, competitive commodities, and increasing profits per unit area. The commune actively participates in the sustainable development project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission specialized rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030, ensuring an increase in area each season within the current 2-year, 5-season production cycle. Connecting agriculture with industrial and service development contributes to job creation, income improvement, and the material and spiritual well-being of the people.

Phu Lam will also promote the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in all fields; build a digital society, digital economy, and digital government through the "Digital Literacy Movement". The locality will focus on developing digital infrastructure and data, improving the capacity to access and apply new technologies, creating a foundation for rapid and sustainable development. At the same time, priority will be given to allocating budget for repairing and upgrading infrastructure in accordance with planning and actual conditions. Resources and minerals will be strictly managed; and violations will be severely punished.

Mr. Vo Minh Luan emphasized: “The commune Party Committee is realizing the resolution of the congress with the theme “Democracy, unity, discipline, development” and the motto of action “New space - New vision - New driving force for development”. Each comrade in the new Executive Committee of the commune Party Committee and each cadre, civil servant, and Party member must uphold the spirit of responsibility, unity, proactiveness, and creativity; quickly concretize the congress resolution into practical action programs and plans suitable to each field of work; determined to overcome difficulties, create clear changes in the implementation of tasks and build a strong and comprehensive political system.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, a resident of Phu Lam commune, shared: “Over the past time, the appearance of Phu Lam commune has changed significantly. Transportation infrastructure and schools have been invested in, becoming more modern, clean, and beautiful. People believe that in the future, the commune will develop further, the rural landscape will improve, and people's lives will be enhanced.”

With specific tasks and solutions, along with high consensus among the Party, government, and people, we are confident that the Phu Lam Commune Party Committee will gradually achieve and surpass the targets set forth in the resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, creating a foundation and impetus for Phu Lam's stable and sustainable development in the future.
