According to a report by Kuaikeji on October 9th, the Xiaomi 17 series surpassed one million units sold just five days after its launch. This achievement was reported by CCTV News and shared by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun on his personal page.
This sales performance is directly reflected in the weekly data. With a market share of 22.08% in the 39th week of 2025 (September 22-28), Xiaomi became the number one brand in the Chinese smartphone market for the first time, temporarily surpassing Apple.
Notably, just a week earlier, Xiaomi was in fifth place with a market share of 12.8%, while Apple was in first place with 26.4%.
Earlier, Lu Weibing, President and CEO of Xiaomi's mobile phone and branding division, stated on Weibo that sales of the entire Xiaomi 17 series had grown by more than 20% year-on-year compared to previous generations, despite the ongoing National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays in the country.
The Xiaomi Mi 17 series officially went on sale on the morning of September 27th. Within the first 5 minutes, this product line broke the first-day sales and revenue records for a new domestic phone series across all price segments in 2025.
The Xiaomi Mi 17 Pro Max set a record for first-day sales and revenue for a new domestic phone this year, accounting for over 50% of the total sales of the entire Xiaomi Mi 17 series.
Mr. Lu Weibing highlighted the Xiaomi 17 Pro series, describing sales as having "far exceeded all expectations" and stating that the company is urgently replenishing supply. The standard version of this model is also experiencing increasing popularity.
