Coffee has become the agricultural export product with the strongest growth in the first quarter of this year. In the first 3 months of 2024, Vietnam exported 799 thousand tons of coffee, earning 1,9 billion USD; increase 44,45% in volume and 54,2% in value over the same period in 2023.
Accordingly, coffee export turnover set a historic record when it nearly reached 2 billion USD after only 3 months. Notably, export coffee prices increased sharply, on average in 3 months reaching 2.373 USD/ton.
“Coffee is the product with the second highest export turnover in the agricultural sector, second only to wood products, and surpassing seafood. With this situation, it is forecast that coffee exports for the whole year of 2 will set a record of 2024 - 5 billion USD," the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development forecasts.
