In the context of the locality focusing on key political tasks and implementing a two-tiered local government model, Phuc Tho commune has determined that mass mobilization work must be one step ahead. Therefore, many flexible, people-oriented, and practical approaches have been implemented to create consensus within the community.
With the motto "the people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, and the people benefit," the entire political system from the commune to the village level simultaneously got involved. Cadres, Party members, and mass organizations went to each household to disseminate information, mobilize support, and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people.
Thanks to its close connection with and respect for the people, the movement quickly gained widespread support. Many households voluntarily donated land, dismantled fences, gates, and outbuildings to expand village roads and alleys without requesting assistance or compensation. Originating from Alley 3 in Buom village, the movement spread to areas such as Dum, Thuong Loc, Trach Loi, Trung Nam Loc, O Thon villages, and De Alley in Tich Giang 3 village.
To date, 130 households in the commune have voluntarily donated over 800m² of residential land to expand village roads; 28 households have donated more than 550m² of agricultural land to expand internal field roads and irrigation canal systems. Among them, many Catholic households have actively participated, contributing to strengthening the spirit of unity between Catholics and non-Catholics in the locality.
Mr. Hoang Van Son, who voluntarily donated land to expand the main road in Trach Loi village, shared: "Initially, I had some concerns because it involved the area of land used for living, but after understanding the policy and seeing the villagers' support, my family readily donated land to make the road wider and more convenient for the whole village."
Sharing the same viewpoint, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trinh said: "When the village roads are widened, our people benefit first. My family donated land not only for the common good but also to contribute to building a more spacious, clean, and beautiful homeland."
Opening up opportunities for development and improving people's lives.
Not only did many families donate land for road construction, but they also contributed labor and funds to rebuild fences and improve the landscape after the road was opened. Some households, despite their difficult circumstances, were willing to sacrifice their personal interests for the common good. These simple acts have created a strong ripple effect in the community.
According to Duong Thu Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council of Phuc Tho commune, the voluntary land donation and financial contributions from the people not only contribute to improving transportation infrastructure but also create a foundation for promoting socio -economic development in the locality. In the coming time, the commune's Party committee and government will continue to accompany, support, and replicate these good practices, contributing to building a more prosperous and civilized homeland.
From narrow, bumpy roads of the past, many roads in Phuc Tho commune have now been widened and paved with concrete, creating a clean and beautiful environment. These new roads facilitate travel and trade, while also opening up opportunities for economic development and improving the lives of the people.
According to Nguyen Doan Hoan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Phuc Tho commune, the most important thing is not the number of square meters of land donated, but the strong transformation in the awareness and sense of responsibility of the people towards the overall development of the locality.
"When people understand the policies correctly, see the practical benefits, and trust the leadership of the Party committee and the government, they will have a very high level of consensus. This unity creates the strength to overcome many difficulties in the process of implementing tasks to build up Phuc Tho homeland," Mr. Nguyen Doan Hoan emphasized.
The movement of donating land for road construction is becoming a highlight in the patriotic emulation movement and effective mass mobilization work of Phuc Tho commune. From the strength of the people's will, the locality continues to build a foundation for advanced new rural development, aiming towards a model of civilized, modern, and compassionate villages and communes in the new era.
