Yamaha is increasingly diversifying its range of electric motorcycles to meet the evolving demands of the market. Recently in Taiwan, the Japanese manufacturer introduced the Yamaha EMF 2026 – a new electric motorcycle making its debut. In stark contrast to the styles of previous models, the Yamaha EMF 2026 electric motorcycle emerges as a strong statement of individuality, targeting young users who want to express themselves and seek a different riding experience.
The car utilizes sharp, angular lines and a boxy, blocky body, creating a robust and muscular feel, more like a fighting machine than a conventional vehicle. The front end is highlighted by a vertically arranged dual LED projector headlight cluster, giving it a cold, sci-fi- inspired look. The vehicle is equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster displaying all necessary information such as speed, battery capacity, and navigation. It also uses an NFC locking system allowing unlocking via card or smartphone. While the LED taillights, designed in the Afterburner style, evoke the image of a jet engine, adding to the sense of speed even when the car is stationary, the 10-inch wheels give the EMF the necessary agility for navigating crowded urban environments.
Behind its rugged exterior lies an impressively powerful electric drivetrain. The Yamaha EMF is equipped with a water-cooled electric motor, delivering a maximum power of 7.6 kW, equivalent to approximately 10.3 horsepower, and a peak torque of 26 Nm. Thanks to the instantaneous torque characteristics of the electric motor, the car can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, providing a distinct advantage when driving in the city, especially in traffic jams or when a quick acceleration is needed for overtaking. In terms of safety, the Yamaha EMF is equipped with a 200 mm diameter front disc brake with a 4-piston caliper, a 190 mm rear disc brake, and a CBS system that evenly distributes braking force between the front and rear wheels. Additionally, the bike has a storage compartment in the footrest area and a USB charging port, meeting the daily needs of urban users.
One of the most notable features of the Yamaha EMF is its compatibility with the Gogoro's battery swapping system. Instead of waiting hours for the battery to charge, users can simply bring the battery to a swapping station to replace it with a new one and continue their journey immediately. According to the manufacturer, the EMF's range is approximately 65 to 110 km, depending on the driving mode and usage habits. Yamaha introduced the EMF in bold and powerful colors such as black, dark blue, and light blue. Currently, the new model is only distributed in the Taiwanese market and there are no plans to expand to other countries.
