Across all three regions of Vietnam—north, central, and south—most localities were bustling with tourists during the four-day National Day holiday on September 2nd. With unique festivals and events at numerous destinations, Vietnamese tourism has gradually established its brand among both domestic and international visitors.
Having spent the recent holidays visiting the Northwestern provinces, Mr. Nguyen The Bang, a resident of Hanoi, said: “What makes these destinations so attractive this year is not only the diversity of events, festivals, and new experiences, but also the way many tourist spots are decorated and welcomed, which has evoked patriotism and national pride. Thanks to that, I feel my trip has become more meaningful.”
Fansipan was the place that impressed The Bang the most during his visit to the Northwest region. Participating in the flag-raising ceremony and singing the national anthem at the highest flagpole in the country, he felt even more strongly a sense of national pride.
The small houses in May village are also decorated with thousands of red flags with yellow stars and covered in golden straw and ripe rice, creating a meaningful atmosphere. The highlight of the tourist area right on Fansipan is the nearly 4-meter-tall national flag, made from 10,000 roses, attracting many tourists to check in.
Overall, during the recent holiday period, Lao Cai province welcomed approximately 196,500 visitors, with Sa Pa town accounting for about 122,770 visitors, a 33.2% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Total tourism revenue in Lao Cai province during the holiday reached approximately 606 billion VND.
