The “H’Mong Culture Day 2025” will take place from 9 AM. to 5 PM on December 13, at Van Lake, Temple of Literature, bringing the vibrant cultural heritage of the H’Mong ethnic minority into the heart of Hanoi.

“H’Mong Culture Day 2025” welcomes the public with free admission.

As one of the largest ethnic groups in the northern mountainous region, the H’Mong- living mainly in Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Son La, Lai Chau, and Dien Bien- are renowned for their rich cultural traditions, distinctive dress, beeswax batik patterns, intricate embroidery, and sophisticated linen-weaving techniques that have been passed down through generations. These crafts, rooted in their connection to nature and agricultural life, form an essential part of this ethnic minority’s cultural identity.

During the cultural event, visitors will have the chance to meet H’Mong artisans from various localities and explore traditional costumes featuring unique hand-embroidered motifs that reflect deeply symbolic stories of daily life, spirituality, and the natural world. The space will offer an immersive experience of H’Mong cultural aesthetics, from textiles and accessories to tools and objects used in everyday life.

Guests can observe and participate in key stages of traditional craft production, including processing flax fibers, weaving linen by hand, creating beeswax batik patterns and preparing natural indigo dye. Cultural and artistic activities like folk melodies, traditional games and authentic cuisine will further introduce audiences to the everyday beauty and resilience of the H’Mong community.

A highlight of this year’s program is the presentation of Craft Link’s newest fashion collection, inspired by traditional H’Mong motifs gathered from the organization’s long-standing project areas.

Craft Link, a Vietnamese non-profit organization promoting fair trade and sustainable craft development, has worked for many years with ethnic minority groups to preserve and revitalise traditional techniques, improve product quality, and create stable, ethical livelihoods for artisans. Its initiatives with H’Mong communities focus on safeguarding their textile heritage, supporting women in craft production, and ensuring that traditional knowledge continues to flourish in modern contexts.

Organized by Craft Link, “H’Mong Culture Day 2025” welcomes all those who appreciate traditional culture, community empowerment and the diverse heritage of Vietnam, offering a unique opportunity to connect with one of the country’s most distinctive and creative ethnic communities.
