122 works entered the final round of the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture"

The final judging panel, chaired by journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association , continued to select the best works.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism , Head of the Organizing Committee of the award, respectfully thanked the efforts of the Preliminary Council for selecting the best works, and at the same time expressed his belief that the Final Council will continue to select the most worthy works to honor in this year's award season.

According to Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh, the cultural field is very broad. This is clearly shown in the more than 1,000 entries this year. This is also a very high number for a specialized press award, showing the deep interest of the press team in the fields of culture, information, sports , tourism and family as well as the prestige of the award. The award ceremony will be held solemnly in November at the Hoan Kiem Theater, Hanoi, thereby spreading further inspiration to write about Vietnam's cultural career...

Regarding the award, journalist Tran Thai Son, Head of the Professional Department, Vietnam Journalists Association, said that in just nearly 4 months of launching, the Secretariat - Synthesis of the award received 1,040 press works submitted to the contest from most central and local press agencies. After a thorough review process, 927 qualified works were entered into the preliminary round (from August 30 to September 15, 2025), of which 223 were from print newspapers; 385 were from electronic newspapers; 45 were from radio; 103 were from television; and 171 were from photojournalism.

Through the process of independent assessment and focused discussion, with the spirit of objectivity and impartiality, the Preliminary Subcommittees selected 122 best works for the final round. Of which, 25 were from Print Newspaper; 30 were from Electronic Newspaper; 22 were from Radio; 25 were from Television; and 20 were from Pictorial Newspaper.

According to the assessment of the Preliminary Jury, the entries are not only high in quantity and diverse in topics, but also of good professional quality, gathering many large and small press agencies at the central and local levels. The works all adhere to major themes, vividly reflecting the important events of 2024-2025 in the fields of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.

Some prominent topics that many groups of readers are interested in and exploit are: The position and role of culture in the new era of the nation; opportunities in building and developing the entertainment industry, film market, book market and reading culture; developing tourism, sports, family building, child protection...; the issue of preserving and promoting, conserving relics, cultural heritage of Vietnam; the issue of innovation and copyright in the cultural field in the current digital environment.

The theme of family, the tradition of studiousness with examples of filial piety and affection towards parents; guiding readers to the values of truth, goodness and beauty in life are of interest. Many works are about hot social issues such as: the spirit of mutual love, solidarity in storms and floods; stories that follow the trend of patriotism...

The closing and award ceremony is expected to be held in November 2025 in Hanoi, with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, Ministries, Central Committees and branches, press agencies and outstanding journalists. The event will be a festival for journalists in the cultural field, a forum for exchange, sharing experiences and spreading creative inspiration.
