Twelve 124 martial arts students from 21 Vovinam clubs in Can Tho City participated in the competition. The students competed for four belt levels: Yellow Belt, First Yellow Belt, Second Yellow Belt, and Third Yellow Belt. To achieve these belt levels, candidates had to pass tests in martial arts philosophy, martial strength, and technique.
According to the assessment of martial arts master Vo Huu Ly, President of the Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao Federation of Can Tho City, at the Yellow Belt, First Yellow Belt, and Second Yellow Belt levels, most young martial artists performed very well, following the training program of the school and the Federation. The judging panel also assessed the quality of martial artists from colleges and universities in the area as good. However, at the Third Yellow Belt level, most of the older martial artists, busy with family and developing the movement, only achieved an average to above-average level. In the coming time, the Federation will organize training to reinforce the techniques for the clubs.
* The Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao Federation of Can Tho City also recently organized the first Vovinam elementary level promotion exam in Phong Dien commune in 2026, with 167 martial artists participating. The students competed for four belt levels: Blue Belt, Blue Belt 1st, Blue Belt 2nd, and Blue Belt 3rd.
