Taking place from September to December 2025, the competition is hosted by the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, with the theme "Embedded Systems and AIoT Technology". This theme is considered to be in line with the Government's technology development orientation. The competition is professionally sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Innovation Center (NIC).
Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Tan, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Competition, commented: The participation of many top schools contributes to improving the academic quality and competitiveness of the competition. Prestigious training institutions such as the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Danang University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Phenikaa University, University of Transport, Hanoi University of Industry, Dong A University... actively participated.

Dr. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Head of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering 1, Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, said: "The contest was implemented in a short time, but the number of proposed ideas and registered teams showed great interest and enthusiastic support from teachers and students of universities and academies. This is an encouragement for the permanent unit organizing the contest. At the same time, it affirms that the organizing idea and the theme of the contest "Embedded systems and AIoT" are really practical, attracting students from many training majors, aiming at interdisciplinary interests, promising to create many sample products with high applicability in practice".
The competition attracted schools from the Central and Central Highlands regions such as Quy Nhon University, Tay Nguyen University, Hue University of Science , Duy Tan University, thereby demonstrating inclusiveness and creating equal opportunities for students across the country.
Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Tan emphasized that the highlight of the competition is its interdisciplinary and inter-faculty nature. In addition to the faculties of electricity - electronics, information technology, the faculties of mechanics, transportation, and irrigation also participated. The diverse participation of the industries affirms that AIoT technology has spread beyond the scope of the technology industry to touch many other application fields.
The Organizing Committee assessed that this year's Competition was successful in attracting a large number of students, expanding the scope of participating schools and affirming its reputation as a large academic playground on IoT in Vietnam.
To realize the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW, the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association launched the "Vietnam Electronics Design 2025" Competition as a specific action of the Association. Dr. Tran Duc Lai, Chairman of the Association, said that it is necessary to organize an academic playground to improve capacity, nurture passion for research and connect students with technology enterprises.

The competition consists of three selection rounds in three regions. The preliminary round requires candidates to submit their applications by September 15, 2025. The semi-finals take place from November 10-15, 2025. The final round will be held in December 2025 at the Hanoi Institute of Posts and Telecommunications Technology to select the best talents in the country.
The evaluation system is based on five criteria with different weights: creativity and new ideas 30%, preliminary feasibility and practical application level of each category 25%, technical system structure 15%, profile and presentation 5%.
