On the evening of July 2nd, in an interview with Tuoi Tre Online regarding the announcement of the 2024 10th grade entrance exam cutoff scores, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, stated: "The Department will announce the 2024 10th grade entrance exam cutoff scores at 2 PM on July 3rd."

Thus, this year the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the entrance exam scores for 10th grade one week earlier than expected.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, officials from the Department's Examination and Quality Assurance Division have been working at full speed, regardless of the time, to announce the admission scores as soon as possible.

Responding to questions from many parents about why the cut-off scores weren't announced immediately after the 10th-grade entrance exam results were released, a department leader explained:

"After announcing the cutoff scores for specialized and integrated 10th-grade classes, the Department of Education must wait for schools to complete the enrollment process for these classes. Only when the enrollment process for specialized and integrated 10th-grade classes is finished will the Department of Education proceed to consider the cutoff scores for regular 10th-grade classes."

According to statistics on the 2024 10th grade entrance exam scores in Ho Chi Minh City, foreign language was the subject with the best scores among the three subjects, with 1,707 candidates achieving a perfect score of 10 and 14,732 candidates scoring between 9 and 9.75.

In mathematics, the most controversial subject in the recent exam, 49 candidates received a perfect score of 10. Although literature did not have any perfect scores, the number of papers with scores below average was the lowest among the three subjects.

The admission score for grade 10 is calculated as follows:

Admission score = Literature exam score + Foreign language exam score + Mathematics exam score + Bonus/priority points (if any).

The Department only considers candidates who participated in the entrance exam, completed all required tests, did not violate the entrance exam regulations, and did not receive a score of 0 on any test.
