At the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, organized the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the 15th Ho Chi Minh City Excellent Team Leader Competition - "Swallow Wing Olympic" 2026, while also commemorating the 15-year journey of the Swallow Wing competition, spanning from 1992 to the present.

Established in 1992, the Swallow Wings Olympic is considered a traditional playground for those in charge of the Youth Union, contributing to the professional development, skills in organizing children's activities, and discovering many outstanding individuals for the Youth Union work in the city.

This year, the competition attracted more than 800 contestants, including teachers serving as Head of the Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Youth Union, and youth leaders in residential areas, from primary schools, secondary schools, and grassroots units in Ho Chi Minh City, competing in 3 categories.

The contestants participated in various activities such as general knowledge tests, Scout rituals, lesson plan development, situational problem-solving, creative communication, and showcasing their talents and practical skills in working with children.

According to Ms. Tran, the special feature of this year's competition is that it is being held for the first time in the new Ho Chi Minh City area after the merger of the Youth Union leadership forces from Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong (formerly) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly).

The competition has also been revamped in the Olympic format, increasing its practical relevance, interaction, and experiential value for participants.

As part of the program, the Organizing Committee also embarked on a journey to look back on 15 seasons of the "Winged Swallow" competition, with many activities to interact with and express gratitude to individuals who have made significant contributions to the competition throughout its history.

The highlight of the program was the "Journey of 15 Seasons of the Swallow" exchange session, featuring generations of Youth Union officials who had been involved with the competition, such as Nguyen Hoang Nang, Le Chau Ha, and Dang Trung Hau.

The guests shared about the journey of forming the competition, the changes in the team leaders, and the new demands placed on those working with children today.
