As of 4:00 AM on March 19, 2025, the price of gold on the exchanges of several companies was as follows:

At Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), DOJI Group, and Bao Tin Minh Chau, the price of gold is listed at 96.7 million VND/ounce (buying price) and 98.2 million VND/ounce (selling price). Today's gold price increased by 1.9 million VND/ounce in the buying price and 2.1 million VND/ounce in the selling price compared to the close of yesterday's trading session.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the buying price of SJC gold is 97.5 million VND/ounce and the selling price is 98.5 million VND/ounce. Thus, compared to yesterday's session, the gold price increased by 100,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices.

Regarding gold rings, the price of gold rings, currently at 96.6-98.1 million VND/ounce (buy - sell), also increased by 300,000 VND in each direction, setting a new historical peak. However, other major gold brands continued to raise the selling price of gold rings to 98.8 million VND/ounce - the highest price ever recorded for this item on the market.

World gold price today, March 19, 2025, and chart of world gold price fluctuations over the past 24 hours.

According to Kitco, the spot price of gold in the world market at 4:00 AM Vietnam time today was $3,031.79 USD/ounce. Today's gold price is up 1.2% compared to yesterday. Converted using the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,810 VND/USD), the world gold price is approximately 94.3 million VND/ounce (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is nearly 4 million VND/ounce higher than the international gold price.

According to Reuters, gold prices rose 1% to a new record high, surpassing the $3,000 per ounce mark. This was due to increased tensions in the Middle East and trade uncertainties stemming from US President Donald Trump's planned tariffs, boosting demand for this safe-haven asset.

Spot gold peaked at $3,038.26 per ounce. By 9:46 a.m. ET (13:46 GMT), the price had risen nearly 1% to $3,029.69 per ounce. This was the first time gold prices had surpassed the $3,000 mark since March 14. US gold futures also rose 1.05% to $3,038.00.

Gold had a very successful year last year and continues its upward trend this year. The price of gold has increased by more than 15% year-to-date and has reached a record high 14 times.

Jim Wyckoff, senior analyst at Kitco Metals, said: "We are seeing a strong rally in gold prices today due to continued safe-haven demand. This is being driven by renewed conflict in the Middle East, increased trade tensions and aggressive gold purchases by central banks."

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has proposed a series of US tariff plans. These include the fixed 25% tariff on steel and aluminum that went into effect in February, as well as reciprocal and industry-specific tariffs that he said would be implemented on April 2nd.

Gold has traditionally been considered a safe investment during times of economic or geopolitical instability.

Investors will now closely monitor the talks between President Trump and President Putin taking place today, where Trump is expected to push for a ceasefire in Ukraine. They will also be watching the Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting.

Traders expect the Fed to keep interest rates unchanged on Wednesday. However, according to CME Group's FedWatch tool, they see nearly a 66% chance that the Fed will cut interest rates in June.

Razan Hilal, a market analyst at City Index, commented: "If gold holds above $3,040, the next resistance level is expected to be $3,080 in an extreme scenario."

Silver also rose 0.8% to $34.1 per ounce, after hitting its highest level since late October.

Wycoff said: "We could see silver rise more sharply in the next few weeks as it catches up with gold's upward momentum."

Platinum remained stable at $1,000.30 and palladium rose 0.1% to $965.50.
