On the afternoon of April 11, a representative of the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police - Ministry of Public Security) said that in the first 4 months of the year, there were 3 cases of resistance against law enforcement officers nationwide, injuring 28 traffic policemen.

The traffic police force directly and coordinated to arrest 29 subjects to hand over to the authorities for handling.
Of which, 4 cases occurred in Hanoi, 3 cases in Ho Chi Minh City, 2 cases in Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh and Tuyen Quang in each province.
Hung Yen, Lao Cai, Thanh Hoa, Dong Thap, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Bac Lieu, Bac Kan, Son La, Quang Binh provinces have 1 case each.
On the Hanoi - Lao Cai expressway managed by the Traffic Police Department, one case occurred.
A representative of the Traffic Police Department also said that compared to the same period in 2022, an increase of 20 cases, an increase of 8 injured traffic policemen and an increase of 22 subjects were arrested.
It is worth mentioning that the number of people using alcohol against the traffic police reached 17 cases (accounting for more than 50%), injuring 5 traffic police officers and arresting 17 subjects.
For example, in the case that happened in Vinh Phuc and Lao Cai provinces in February, the subjects driving cars and motorbikes ran straight into the traffic police when they were asked to stop the vehicle and check the alcohol content. The above cases clearly show the recklessness, regardless of the consequences, disregard for the law of the criminals.
Explaining this problem, a representative of the Traffic Police Department said that a driver using alcohol will lead to an inability to control his mind and behavior. This is the cause leading to a number of violations of obstructing, resisting, not cooperating, refusing to measure alcohol concentration when the traffic police force requests inspection and handling.
Causing difficulties for functional forces, making traffic police take a long time to handle a case.
In the coming time, the Traffic Police Department will continue to coordinate with local police to resolutely handle cases against law enforcement officers at the strictest level to deter criminals.
