In their first quarter-final match, the Japanese U17 team showcased their strength by crushing the Tajikistani U17 team 5-0. The East Asian representatives completely controlled the game with their modern pressing style and high-speed passing game.
Meanwhile, China's U17 team pulled off a surprise comeback victory against hosts Saudi Arabia, winning 3-1. Trailing early, the East Asian side quickly responded with a goal from Wan Xiang. In the second half, Zhao Songyuan put China ahead before He Sifan extinguished the hosts' hopes with a spectacular long-range strike in injury time.
The match between Uzbekistan U17 and South Korea U17 was incredibly dramatic. The Central Asian representatives took the lead twice thanks to a brace from Ravshanbekov but were still pegged back to 2-2 in the 88th minute by a spectacular goal from An Sun-hyun. In the penalty shootout, goalkeeper Mehrojbek Sirojiddinov shone with a decisive save, giving Uzbekistan a 5-3 victory.
In their final match, the Australian U17 team demonstrated their superior physique and stamina by defeating the Vietnamese U17 team 3-0. Oliver O'Carroll opened the scoring at the end of the first half before Hassarati and Akeem Gerald scored in the second half.
In the semi-finals, Japan U17 will face Uzbekistan U17 at 10 PM on May 19th, while China U17 will take on Australia U17 at 1:30 AM on May 20th.
Meanwhile, the four teams eliminated in the quarter-finals still qualify for the 2026 U17 World Cup.
